Swords or Guns?
I prefer swords - especially those big-ass ones. Though Katanas are nice too.
Guns are better, swords are cooler, in my opinion. As I've never been in a gun fight and I seriously doubt I will be in a gun fight any time soon, I prefer swords. I actually like to spar with a few friends of mine.
Well from an "Art" perspective i'm a big fan of both. Dont take that to mean im naive in any category, i just appreciate the unique appeal both offer. The sleek, slender, design of a well forged sword, or the raw, untouched power that a gun presents. Both are amazing designs, and i think thats why Devil May Cry appeals to me so much, theres just something to be said about being able to blend the 2 together in such a satisfying way.
Now truth be told in any real life situation in the modern world a gun COMPLETELY renders a sword useless, even in close combat. That is to say, there is no one with the science fictional skill requires to deflect bullets, and close in on their prey with inhuman speed. That being said, if we participated in a universe where such feats WERE possible (Star Wars for a quick example) then we see how quickly and thoroughly the tides are turned.
Swords have a special place in my heart, as they have been present in my gaming life since i was super young. Now putting that aside, Swords are STILL uber cool, i mean who would play a Final Fantasy solely centered around guns? (to be honest that seems almost like sacrilege). Swords are a necessary part of the gamer and anime fan cultures do to its pure coolness factor (which happens to be 15/10 folks).
Due to an over excess in a game i like to call Halo 2, guns ALSO hold a special place in my heart. Their precise design, and the skill in which the most delicate of maneuvers can be executed in online multi player helps you to realize the true art of a good gun fight. The speed in which you shoot, dodge, and find cover dont even compare to the mental planning it requires to execute most effective strategies. Gun fights are just as much games of skill and flare as a good sword fight.
To end this long, overblown comment, in which i ramble from the heart on such a "controversial" subject, id like to say, that i can't decide. All these words ive written were just me trying to decide which i feel is the better weapon. And personally, they are both amazing weapons, and rather then picking and choosing, we should just learn to appreciate both.

Personally, i think that gun is cooler and better than sword. it can shoot from a far which is good isnt it? whereas for swords you have to go closer to that particular person and therefore, more dangerous, higher chance of getting yourself injured. and even though gun seems more dangerous, always missing and stuff but i guess its good right? hahahs.. anyways.. i just prefer guns to swords.. :)

Why an AK-47 is more like a sub-machine gun than a rifle.
The ak was made in 1947 but it very little accuracy to it. The reason that it is so famous is because it fires with shear power. But it also manuvers dangerously because when fired in automatic mode a big hunk of metal called the bolt retracts with high speeds and practice crashing with the body. The best AK that is very popular between Mexican personnels is the German AK-47. But just the same a rifle and a sword can be reliable in different situations. I enjoy both.

Uhm,it really depends on the context. I find swords cooler as I've never seen one up close before. I am particularly interested in knives/daggers that is meant for jungle-trekking as it is highly practical and convenient.
Although guns are highly entertaining in gunfights scenes, I am quite wary of such weapons which may kill unintentionally in a split second. The difference is obvious: guns shoot further and faster than swords. But because of this, guns may kill someone else if you miss, missing your opponent in swordplay usually meant that you're in trouble unless you regain composure quickly.
Maybe it's just me who prefer weapons that do not kill. Not that quickly, at least.

It's spelled bayonet.

It's spelled bayonet.
Definitely the gun. Unless you plan to fight at very close range then maybe the sword will win.

Depends what you want it for. Swords are cool to collect and learn how to use maybe I will do just that later on. Guns are not cool at all but get the job done if you actually needed it to defend yourself or hurt someone. I guess overall I prefer swords but thats because I hope it doesn't come to a situation where I have to defend myself or someone important to me with a gun if I were in a dangerous situation I would choose gun right away.
I prefer Gun. Because people can shot from a long distance and we can use suprise attack with Gun. The weakness is Gun use a bullet. You can run out of bullet if you use a gun.

Eehn.
Swords - cooler lookin'
Guns - Helluvalot more effective.
So if I'm trying to look cool, I'll wear a sword. If I actually want to cause some harm (and I hope I never will) I'll wear a gun.

Swords. but only 1 sword though. Cloud Strife's buster sword. the one from AC ^_^
Sword FTW, definitely! You just need more skills to master the blade, with a gun every1 is able to win... :(
Since guns exist it doesn't count who's better trained and has mastered his weapon anymore, the one who faster draws his guns, wins in the most cases...
I think in something like 90% of gun v.s. sword, the gun wins, just because you can attack pretty cowardly from distance -_-
For myself I would prefer to master the sword, I think that's something you can be more proud of than mastering the gun could ever be.

Which means guns are a lot more easier and deadlier weapon than a sword. more importantly, it as a range advantage than sword. in close combat, you need skills to use a gun effectively, wherein a sword depends upon the speed of the wielder in terms of long range combat.
on the other, wielding a sword is cool with all that style and technique. because to be able to use a sword effectively means you must learn to play the style with all discipline. anyhow, that same concept can be applied to using a gun and it comes deadlier.
