This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but since this somewhat of a small emergency... I'm going to to risk it.

I'm currently in need of a small computer vector graphic for a digital pen with an small rectangular LCD display that extends long 70% of the length. This is for part of the visual on my 4th year design poster. Our team consists of 4 engineering students whose graphics expertise doesn't go beyond paint.exe... hehe. (we're ashamed)

We have a visual of pen in bitmap format, but we can't use that directly because the poster is going to enlarge it by 20 times (pixelicious) and it's missing the LCD display.

Does anyone here has any recommendation on how to do this?

Kin

Wow, waterloo, don't you have any friend can do this? I thought it has one of the best computer science depart lol

nvm.. I not quite understand what you need, if you mean you want to vertorize something like this :http://www.sxc.hu/photo/299974

we using pen tool in Photoshop or Illustartor to outline every part that has different color and color them. so the graphic becomes shapes base on math function so it can be extend to any size. it may not look like the original photo exactly (more carton style), depends on your skill. Illustrator also has "live trace" to vectorize any bitmap graphic automatically.

The easiest way to solve this problem is finding a digital pen, a LCD display, then using a high resolution digital camera to take the picture yourself.
