First of all this has noting sexually related to it so don't. I started this tread because in Bio class today it suddenly dawn to me why do guys have nipples for. My teacher was stumped by this question.

The classmates suggested that we have nipples so we can track how much we actually excercise our chests, but that seems like a really stupid answer. This is really puzzling because guys don't really seem to have an important use for their nipples.

Please give me your view in this topic.

Dude, we're different sexes not different species =P The difference between males and females is only one chromosome (usually). Besides which we have a lot of stuff that doesn't have any use: tailbone, appendix, most body hair.

It's a sign that all people were originally intended to be women that the women will inherit the Earth. :p

Naw, seriously; it's just a remnant of "Y" missing that one strike from being an "X." Since there is no special benefit in removing the nipples, they are still there.

Not just males of the human species, try all mamals. its not exactly a sexual organ even though its practically treated as one but just a simple part of your body. In the same way that both men and women have arms and legs, the torso area are similar for both sexes. it's just that upon reaching sexual maturity, the specific area develops differently according to the sex. Men don't just have nipples, there are mamary glands there too, except that they are not developed into full functional organs. In rare cases of hormonal imbalance, some men actually develop their mamary glands and lactate.

well let me say one thing, we are not reptiles, if we share a common similiarity as reptiles, we prolly won't have that.
