Okay, look at your nipple. What colour is it? As you can see, it is a different colour than the rest of your skin. Why? because it is surrounded by areola...[ I don't think I spelt that right] anyways. Girls have that too. It's a pleasure zone. You know...for sex? So, I don't want to get graphic -.-'' But the 'nipples' are both a pleasurable place to be 'stimulated' for both guys and girls o_o''

So it's settled. It's for pleasure. Well.. I guess I never really thought about the pleasure part. o.O

Why do guys have nipples? Well because every male has some female chromosomes, and every female has some male chromosomes. The only difference is the XX and XY. Somehow feed enough estrogen to a male and he will grow breasts and maybe some other stuff... Correct if I'm wrong somebody.

Because when you start to devolop you don't develop the difference in gender untill like 2 weeks-1 month. before you do you're still devolping and end up developing nipples in that time

First of all this has noting sexually related to it so don't. I started this tread because in Bio class today it suddenly dawn to me why do guys have nipples for. My teacher was stumped by this question.

The classmates suggested that we have nipples so we can track how much we actually excercise our chests, but that seems like a really stupid answer. This is really puzzling because guys don't really seem to have an important use for their nipples.

Please give me your view in this topic.

The exact same reason females have them. All male nipples are very sensitive (just as sensitive as a woman's) to touch and temperature change. It is possible to stimulate male nipples for the purpose of enhancing sexual pleasure (try it, they like it!). They can also be stimulated (naturally or by injecting artificial hormones) to produce colostrum (infant breastmilk). Male nipples are usually downplayed and not seen as very important. For instance, the tiny thread of muscles behind human ears that (with practice) can swivel and move the horn of the ear only saw use thousands of years ago for the purpose of listening for danger and predators, now we almost never have the instance of starving infants whose mothers have died and their fathers are the only ones who can provide colostrum.

Note here that if I discovered my boyfriend or husband had no nipples, I'd be terrified. A man without nipples is as anatatomically incorrect as a man who does not possess a penis and two testicles.

All babies start off female believe it or not.
The amount of testosterone in the fathers contribution usually determines if the child will end up male or female.
If there is enough the baby ends up a male if not it stays female.
The nipples are just a left over effect from that on men. All mammals are that way.

Not to mention the fact that they define you as being a mammal. If you weren't a mammal, I don't think you'd be as accepted. I wonder if some people are born without nipples.. o.O;; you know..as kind of a handi-cap- sort of like an 11th toe thing. xD "Honey, there's something you need to know before I take of my clothes...I was born without nipples" *schrieeeeeek* I guess it could happen, it's common for people to be born with a nipple inside-out...and some are born with a superfluous nipple. ^^;;

Just like animals we are equipt with things that COULD become in use trough evolution.
Woman and men are the same if you look at the package, the hormones make the difference.
In order to make male and female life forms from one specie evolute on the same way, the body must be as much the same as possible or else they can't multiply themselves as one specie anymore.

Thats all there is to it, so boys be prepared.. in the future you could have boobs to.....

:) Its just evolution. We're the same genetically made up creature except for a few differences. Its still interesting to wonder because men dont develope vaginas because we're male, so why do we develope nipples...

It's gotta be evolution. Perhaps one day we'll evolve into males without nipples... who knows.
