Has any one see Haibane-Renmei? that's all I want to know because most of the people that I know have not heard of it before.

I didn't find it that awesome... you are waiting for the entire anime to "something happen", and then the anime ends, and nothing hapenned... =P

one of the things that i really liked in the anime was the end... the end was great, the message that the author tried to pass to the audience...

that aside, the entire serie was a little boring... not much happening...

I think its a really good anime, great story, good art

I keep seeing trailers for Haibane Renmei on my old Lupin DVDs. THe music is nice and the art looks good. But from what I've read about the series, it sounds boring, so I haven't watched it.

and also the story is not a funny one ...
i guess its categorized as drama and its quite a sad anime series ...
almost crying watching it ..

but, its still now is among the best anime series that i ever watch ...

The manga is not called Haibane-Renmei it's called Charcoal Feather Federation :) and was hard too find too. And haibane-Renmei has a small amount of dark humour, but the manga is allot more funny.

When a young girl, Rekka, wakes up from a dream, she finds a ring of light over her head and she is welcomed by a group of girls who had wings on them.

Why did Rekka become a Haibane? Who were the Haibane? As Rekka continues her life in the peaceful town of Guri, the mystery behind her new friends begin to be revealed.

anyway it has goot storyline, last few edpsidoes were really great, and more over it has a rank of 28...>.<, so i wud encourage you to watch it, strongly^^, btw, i have seen the manga, i don't read them, tiring me ~~* >.<, but still, this anime is good, so give it a try >.< alittle complicated for me

I'm gonna chime in here and say it was, hands down, the best anime i've ever seen. it certainly wasn't an action anime. first, i don't think there was a single line of dialogue that made me cringe. second, everything had a purpose: from the holiday celebration colors to the windmills to the clock tower to the abandoned factory to the crows to the Toga, etc. etc. EVERYTHING tied together in the end.

what struck me the most, though, was that so much about it that perfectly mirrored life. if you haven't seen it, don't read these spoilers, but (and this is the bulk of my post)

the way they portrayed death was spot on. there's nothing quite as haunting as being in a dead person's room. everything is still there, their stuff is there, their imprint may still be on the sheets, but you know that they're gone, and that's it. you can cling to the hope of meeting up in some sort of afterlife, but you know it may never be the same as it was. (i'm referring to episodes 5 and 6.) second, rakka's crow: didn't it teach you the important lesson about caring for other people? she says that she can't remember who it was, but that he/she tried to help her and possibly died for her. and even though she doesn't know that person, she can still cry for him/her. also, i loved how the story was just as much focused on rakka as it was on reki. you got to see how 'family' worked for the haibanes with their youngest member and their oldest. there were two portrayals of accepting death, as well. reki's attempted suicide versus the day of flight. look how ugly that first option wound up being. it also gave a great message for starting over and casting away the old memories, because you can still find happiness in creating new ones.

if you like a "thinking" anime, you won't find one much better than this one.

I havn't seen it yet but it's in my "need to get list"- it sounded like interesting peace of work, i hope i'll like it :)

Well y'see, the show's based around the kind of drama and events that can and do happen in real life, with surrealistic elements thrown in to act as a catalyst. Because of that, the viewer can relate to a lot of it. Ended up being a very emotional and thoughtful show. One of my favorites.
