Fate/Stay Night Wall - I'm stuck..
1 Page: [ 1 ]
A fate wallpaper I worked on over a year ago then forgot about, just found it again so figured I should finish it up.
Here is the orig scan:
Original Scan
I redrew the other half of the couch and added a background, carpet and ...molding?

Threw in a wall pattern. Then changed the background and added a crooked picture and texture.

I don't know which bg looks best or if the texture works with the image or what am I doing wrong? I feel it dosen't blend well at all... then again I'm not good with textures I just threw it on and overlayed it. Point is I'm not satisfied with the current look. I'm even willing to just start from scratch with just the couch picture.
Any help on what version looks best or on what to add or remove would be a great help.
Thanks!
(btw i resized the images to 1024 from 1600)

I think your bench is missing a leg on the right side of the wallpaper. It has the leg in front but none at the back.
Design-wise, I think its solid. I have no issues to raise on this.
As for the blending which you are not satisfied with, I think it could be due to the feeling that the couch is sort of "glued" to the wall and gives off that flat feel. Use of shadows and stronger shading hues might be something that you might want to consider using to see if it solves your blending problem.

I think the version that looks the best is the 3rd, it feels more complete and I love the little touch of the wonky picture on the wall. I also think that the wallpaper doesn't distract so much from the characters as in the second one. That floral pattern is just a tad too much.
I think Dias has pretty much said everything that you need to change on this wallpaper though.
Shadows will definitely help this wallpaper feel more complete. When you add them try to keep in mind where the light source is on the characters, and use that as a guide to put them in.
You've made a really good start though and once you've made the few tweaks suggested I think you'll have a really nice solid walls. Fantastic work so far, and good luck with the changes :D
