Naruto is one of my favorites but that darn! INSERTS! Those inserts always veers off the plot of the story! My friends says that Naruto is one of the longest Anime with multiple series. But what made it so long is because of those DANG! INSERTS! >=(. Well that is my opinion...

BTW as in length Naruto isn't even close to some of the giganauts out there..... it's probaly one of the longest series if we were only to consider the series that are fansubed.. but there are way longer series out there..

You're talking about the FILLERS, right?...well...in that case...I hate them. I can understand 1 o 2 filler episodes now and then, but from episode 140 on there are JUST fillers.

Yeah, Naruto has a lot of fillers but those are going to end in February. Shippu-den is gonna ROCK!

I'll probably pick it up again once the fillers finally come to an end though.
Wow 450+ episodes is way longer than naruto! and there are even short ones up to 10 not even 20 minutes worth of anime in them.

The Dragon Ball Saga has it beat, just in episodes.
DB, DBZ, and DBGT add up to 493 episodes. Kind of a given right? If you add all the movies and specials to that, you get a total of 514.
And I think One Piece will easily pass the DB saga as well as Conan...after all they're nearing on 300 episodes and have probably 2/3rds of the manga covered so far. Plus it's an extremely popular series.
Someone posted something about the Naruto fillers ending in early spring in Japan, sometime around mind February or something.
Fillers end in Feburary next year.

I think naruto definitely needs to end. Not because I don't like it (because I do or did, unno manga is getting better) but because series need closure. I don't want them to drag it on forever (DBZ style) with nothing to show for it...

I think Detective Conan is considered the longest running weekly half-hour show that is always about the same characters.
While DB may be longer it is not always about the same characters so some argue it doesn't 'count'.
One Piece won't beat Detective Conan unless DC stops airring or One Piece starts airring more than one episode per week.
Other long series are Sazae-san (short 5-10 minute episodes that have been running forever) and Doraemon (which has had many many seasons, it's a basic kids show).
As for Naruto, I think the fillers ARE a little over the top. They should have come up with a new arc- instead of doing lots of mini episode one shots or plots that last for 2 or 3 episodes. It just gets too boring.
I'm glad fillers will be ending this spring!
