Mmmm doom 3 made me jump a lot... I'd say thats a pretty scary game. The only think that scared me about resident evil were how awful the controls were, lol. The recent one is good tho, 4 right? Fear is just a action game... not really scary.
I just beat FEAR, what an great game. The last few moments were awesome, though it still doesn't match Silent Hill 1.
The scariest game i ever played is was all Resident Evils.............. they are really scary games.........muahahahahahahahahahaha........lol..... i like my malefic laugh....:D

Resident Evil series was more violence than scares. Don't get me wrong, there were times that made me jump (i.e. RE3), but nothing so bad. Silent Hill just did its job of freaking me out. Doom, I just end up cursing more than I have to. The Suffering I just laugh at. Fatal Frame scares me. All three of them.
Hmm..nothing is more scary than silent hill IMO the best horror game out there and fatalframe is pretty decent too..i love RE series but i wudnt call it scary...the true feeling of dread realy can be felt when you are playin SH series..

I really found Haunting Ground to be very scary. It's even scarier than The Clocktower. @__@; There were just so many things coming after you and things that just wouldn't die. I only played the game because the graphics are simply amazing.

Hi there can I ask you fellow gamers what are the scary games you have played and heard of cause im kinda outdated as a late buyer of the PS 2 console XP I have heard about fatal frame 1-3, clock tower 3, silent hill 2-4, resident evil. Can you name other games and the type of gameplay they are.Thanks
Scariest game I'm currently playing is a First Person View(not shooter) game called Condemned from Sega. The setting is kinda like Se7en, or Saw, your a detective armed with a flashlight, and a gun(not for long) you start the game off at the site of a crime scene with another detective and a cop escorting you to the murder scene, the area is very gritty and pitch black, your only field of view is through the flashlight. You have to take a look at the body and dig up all sorts of clues and when your through it starts getting very scary. The idea behind Condemned is trying to find a killer(or killers) in the dark while doing your very best to stay alert in case the madman comes at you from around the corner with a crowbar, the game plays on your senses by using subtle noises like the drop of a bottle, shadows, or the sudden rush of footsteps behind you. It also has a bit of supernatural stuff going on to.
I think Silent Hill is the one..

Resident Evil 2,Silent Hill.There are many scary games but these ones are to me the scariest.
There hasent been a game to date that scares the hell out of me or even makes me shiver a bit, and ive played the majority of the in the dark. am i cursed to be a fearless man for the rest of my existence?!!?!? *cries
