Black and white at it's best with a dash of red to keep things interesting.

Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean 2 and Vagrant History
A REAL different game stile compared with all other rpgs

because of their "action fight" i love those the most

Final Fantasy VII is number one...no doubt about it...
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is number two...no doubt about it...
Everything else is questionable...those two games though, without a doubt, can not be topped

Front mission 3, and 4. My faivourite types of RPGs (for the console) are the strategy kinds, which is why i chose those. For PC I'd have to say Oblivion, just too much you can do, and so much freedom in that game.

Lasting appeal is the most important feature to any game i say.

The best rpg would be star ocean (till the end of time). I really enjoyed this game and i was hooked on it for days on end. The soundtrack is awesome as well.
Another good game is super mario RPG. Thats a classic rpg you cannot beat.

Kingdom Hearts (1, chain of memries and 2) - for the nice story telling and concept between light and darkness.
Final Fantasy 8 - for the romance.

My favorite RPG has always been Threads of Fate and Final Fantasy 9, but lately I've really been enjoying Shadow Hearts, too. It's managed to go beyond FF in terms of audience levels. It seems like it's more for adults while not being too perverted or sex-themed.

I really enjoyed Chrono Trigger. The whole time traveling thing just had me wowed when I first played it.

Being able to effect what happens in the future by changing the past was just a really cool concept to me.

The way the game had multiple endings also gave it much replay value, though I think the character developement was a bit lacking. Having a main protagonist who doesn't say a word throughout the entire game just doesn't work for me.

"Isn't it adventure/action? I mean I have beaten it too a few years ago, and it was much fun, but I don't think it has anything to do with RPG."

"My favorite...well, I find RPGs on any platform boring in the long run (Final Fantasy (TM) is an exception) therefore I play pen-and-paper."

"And I think Tales of Symphonia (TM)is a good one. I used to sit down with my younger brother and played, laughed, cracked jokes about everything when we were tired in the evening, making it look like The Slayers (TM), but we're neglecting it recently because IT DOESN'T WANT TO DANG END, we're playing since 30 hours, what I find amazing, but it's like an endless soap opera..."

"Otherwise great. Play ToS."

Favorite RPG? Dang, that's tough... I can't pick out one: the best I can do is try and select a few for the top tier.

So: Final Fantasy Tactics (poignant story and nice execution); Star Ocean 1, for SNES (nice story/characters, good execution); Final Fantasy 7 (since it was the first console RPG I ever played); Planescape Torment (awesome, just awesome); Fallout 2 (also awesome). Valkyrie Profile was also superb (though it's kinda morbid how you're introduced to all the characters through their death).
