Well it is a difficult question to answer, but i am a super final fantasy freak!
So my list in preference order:
1) Final Fantasy VII
2) Final Fantasy X
3) Final Fantasy Vi
From now it's just pc games:
4) Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
...
There were some good rpg's for pc but they are old now... and i can't seem to remember their names!!

Zelda orcarina of time was one of the best RGP games......................ever and Eldar Scrolls i Morrowind is the best.
Mines is Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, Digital Devil Saga 1&2, La Pucelle Tactics. I still play Disgaea A LOT. As you can tell i'm a Atlus/NIS America Buff :P I still enjoy Final Fantast and current;y have high hopes for 12.

EarthBound. Not many RPG games let you attack hippies, cranky ladies, living portraits and sea monsters with a baseball bat and psychic powers (and a pair of dirty socks!). :D

Pure Rpg I would select Baldur`s Gate. It`s too classical to be overpassed.
But I prefer SRPG, Fire Emblem series and Tear Ring Saga series (many fans think they are the same series) might have a proper seat. They have a heavy feel of history and fate, and all you can do is to fight, no matter for ideal or for own life. No matter how famous and powerful a hero is he will die, soon or later, when you look their name on the gravestones you will feel sorrow, but the people still living must continue to fight, to march. They are the series I thought most.

My favorite RPG's of all time are the Lunar titles (Silver Star and Eternal Blue for Sega CD as well as their PSX remakes). They have the best characters in terms of growth, maturity, and how you attach to them. They have great music, anime style cutscenes, and great stories. No game has ever made me feel so much or care so much about what was going on as the Lunar titles do. I also chalk that up to the superb translations by Working Designs (which is sadly gone now).
I love almost all d Final Fantasy games. Square Enix never lets me down wen it comes to d final fantasy rpg line. Although i was disapointed with FF11. I dont have enough money to pay monthly T__T infact, i dont have any money at all. but im optimistic about FF12. Any word on whether FF7 will be fully re-made on d PS3?

I speek from my soul when I say FINAL FANTASY VII, because it was my first RPG.

Hmm, Zelda: Ocarina of Time is probably my favourite RPG. Dont think there's anything that can beat it ^^ lol..
