Personally I dont like the official translations... But just for the heck of it I end up buying the books anyways so... Yeah, I like the art style and all but man I wish they explained the darn ending in this manga at least... I will continue buying it until I can get a grasp to what happened.
ps: Animated is always better man, so I am not a good person to judge if it compares to the anime or not since I will always unconditionally answer the anime.

Depends. why not just try and read it. or why not find reviews of the manga then determine if you really want it. or do it the usual way :D

neon genesis evangelion has a manga version, you know, and animated is not necessarily always better.( see manga vs. anime topic) i just wanted an opinion on how the story rates when compared with NGE.
Angelic days? what's that? I only know the original manga and Iron Maiden (not related to the awesome rock band ^_^). Can i get some info, a link maybe?
Is the art style consistant to the Anime? or does it have that Die Sterne look to it? Hope it's the latter because I love that guys work.
I really liked the track that "Angelic Days" is taking. Probably because of the school antics type of atmosphere while in the background you see hints of the dark eva lurking within. Almost the feeling I get when watching "The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya".

it came out in U.S. bookstores last month from ADV manga, so if you live in the EU or elsewhere, no idea. i don't know where you can download it.

there is a basic review here. http://www.manganews.net/seriesinfo.php?id=1046 But there's not much.
i can't find any reviews, even the ADV site has no mention of it. maybe you'll have better luck.
It's definitely a guilty pleasure manga for me. I don't really like the art and the plot seems like another cliche "harem" story, but it has its charm. I'm an old school Evangelion fan, so it's an interesting twist on a familiar story.
NGE:AD is suppposed to focus more on the relationships than mech fighting, which is kind of fun to watch.
i don't think it's a harem story. only rei and asuka like shinji, so it's kind of a "triangle". i guess its a square if you count kaoru. usually harem stories have at least 4 girls going after or living with the main character. this has only 2.

NGE Angelic Days is better known as NGE Maiden of Iron/Girlfriend of Steel/Iron Maiden (Take your pick at the Japanese title, different people translated it different ways...). The bleek info is it's basically an alternative universe based on the second NGE computer game that relates to the 26th episode of the NGE anime.
The basic summary of the manga is... (contains some spoiler of the first volume and episode 26 of the anime)
SPOILER (click to view)
There was a scanlation group that did up to volume 4 or 5 before it got liscensed and they dropped it... so it'll be a long wait to actually see this manga's ending.
I found the art kind of bad and the story a little too school comedy cliche. If it wasn't NGE I wouldn't have bought it. I guess that was Gainax's plan though...

bye bro!
