Caffeine: Best friend to students and anime addicts!

I was reminiscing upon the last couple of years in high school, and realised that i'd always hit the coffee pot during exam time. I'm not sure it really helped me, but i seemed to do ok in my exams so i kept drinking it!
Any of you guys coffee drinkers, and what kind do you lean towards?
Also, coffee is meant to have negative effects on the body because it is a stimulant...
I've never really noticed any negative after effects other than grumpiness the morning after due to sleep deprivation.
Yay for iced coffee and late night anime marathons!

Probably around 8 yrs ago, when i started getting serious into playing cs, I drank pots upon pots of coffee to stay up and play. Nowadays though, its more of something that tastes good when its cold outside. Some of my friends think its bad that i've built up an immunity to the caffeine a reg coffee cup provides. I personally don't care where its from as long as its not a $6.00 cup of a coffee when i could grab a cup 3 time the size down at the local QuikE mart.
I've heard a couple downsides to coffee though...one of the more believable ones is the phsycological dependency of it. I have a friend who swears he can't wake up or function 100% unless he's had that cup of coffee in the morning...it could even be decaf and he'd perk up like that.
But aside from coffee theres been a giant rise in caffeine "energy" drinks. Mostly after red bull came out they came out with so many like amped, monster, rockstar, etc etc. Out of those i still like the old school drink of Jolt but thats just me.

Coffee is the only reason I have survived medical school thus far...
Well, for me i dont drink coffee...
Coffee...as common in the puertorican culture as coquis. Yeah, I'm a coffee drinker, but I'm not all that CRAZY about it. I drink it now and then...and strangly find it to do the exact opposite of what it's intended to do. Every time i drink a cup the damn thing makes me sleepy. T_T Dont know why...so yeah, I dont drink alot of it or else I'd be feeling asleep everytime.
I'll have a cup in the morning, but getting coffe during the day without paying ungodly amounts of money isn't exactly practical. generally when I need to stay up late at night I'll drink a pot of coffee and take some caffeine pills, but the more coffee I drink the more I have to pee and the less time I have for working, so generally I lean more towards the pills...as to sleep dep, on the weeks that I may have to stay awake for over 3 days in a row, that's when I'll get my hands on anything, espresso, energy drinks, pills, the problem with that is, people have died because they OD'd on caffeine, so generally I stay around 5g(a cup of espresso generally has about 200mg or .2g of caffeine) on weeks like that and then take no caffeine at all the next week...
*pushes his glasses up, eyes wide*
Well . . . I don't drink coffee very much, due to the fact that Stella hates it. I drink black tea and chai every now and again, but I get my caffeine from Shower Shock. It's a caffeinated soap. You get about 250 mg of sweet, life giving caffeine with each wash, and the soap lasts about two weeks a bar. I buy it online by the ten pack so I stay stocked up. Stella loves it, too, since it smells like peppermint and doesn't leave a film on your skin.
And yes, it totally works. You lather up with the soap, the caffeine soaks into your skin . . . *wham-o* Within five minutes, you are jacked up and good to go.
Regards, Aaron

I just really got into coffee my freshman year of college and then I would mostly drink iced types of coffee (frappes yum). I even love the smell of coffee. I love most types of vanilla and caramel. As for bad effects I have a few friends that have stomach problems after drinking. I think that coffee is one of the few things that can get me in a good mood for the day.
I'm in my first year of university, and I had my first cup of coffee as a fluke. XD I asked a girl to get me something, and she came back with coffee. I've only had about 4 cups since, and I don't really think it has any sort of affect on me.
I wish I could put in the same positive outlook on caffeine, because I know I'll really need it someday.
Caffeine, like many of you, helped me through 1st and 2nd year of undergrad, but afterwards, the relapses started to get worse. Before I knew it, I was getting partial physical withdrawl from not drinking it or some form of it everyday. Granted RedBull has NTs in it, but it's still mostly caffeine.
Oh well, if you all learned moderation, I am envious.

I don't drink drink coffee, I can sleep for 4-3 hours at night and still wake up in an instant all fresh and relaxed.
All my friends that drink coffee look like hell. o_O
As far as I'm concern coffee is bad for you, just getting used to getting up by yourself is better.

Also coffee is adictive and tastes bad. yukky yukky.

I've tried to drink coffie sevral time but i don't like it.. it tast weird.. but what i like are cappuccinos or hot chocolate... hehe^^
I love coffee! A nice café au lait in the morning before I rush to school, then in the afternoon, a nice little espresso can wash away the nastiness of even the crappiest meal, then another, usually a nice frothy cappuccino before heading home from class or work... Yeah... ^_^ And nope, I sleep like a baby!

Caffeine doesn't work on me. It doesn't keep me awake, it doesn't help me concentrate. Its a diuretic so it makes me go to the washroom. That being said, I drink it once in a while because I like the taste (with milk and sugar of course).
My classmate always drink coffee and she had like nervous break down and dependency

bye bro!
