Samurai Champloo
It is. This entire anime is about food.
Just kidding.
I loved the artwork, style, and general ideas... how about you? I've heard some pretty strong voices out there... Like, as my friend says:
"It looks like crap but is wicked awesome!"
Eh, I still liked the artwork. And the fight sequences. Yes... The fight sequences.
*happy sigh of remembrance*

Good anime, but HEAVILY over-rated. I mean a lot of people think this anime is the best thing since sliced bread, and I highly beg to differ. None-the-less it is a good series, and very enjoyable. The only complaint I'd have about it is why they didn't really spend more time driving the plot and the reason they were looking for the samurai that smells like sunflowers. None-the-less, I'd recommend it.
The action sequences are nice! I'd recommend this series to my friends.
Storyline: okay
Visuals: very nice
Violence: so so
Entertainment Value: average

I think everyone liked it was because the plot wasn't seen as important and we where getting a slice of the main characters lives

Shamploo was beautiful and way cool i don't like the way Susan J Napier regarded it in her book ' Anime from Akira to Howl's Moving Castle, Updated Edition: Experiencing Contemporary Japanese Animation'(Was probably was because she didn't like it and to be honest that book was a tad bit biased) i liked how they related the crimes and life of the Edo period to today like the drug dealing that ep where guy was trying to sell his cart and dealer said he cant cause he put too many accessories on it like they do nowadays with pimped out cars regular dealers can't buy modified cars. Gin and Mugens contrasting styles and character traits made it all the more funny.
It's a great anime not the best.
anime is about food, in away its true. They go town to town looking for food then something crazy will pop from out where. Thats the show in still the last 3 Episodes.

The plot of Samurai Champloo wasn't that great, but the animation was really good :]
Especially on fighting scenes. This is the kind of anime after watching it, you will watch it at least once in a year.

Yeah, I liked the animation, too. Especially the intro and the songs. I think all over, the anime was good!

I was expecting way more from this anime. It's good, funny, original (same creator of cowboy bebop) but it has so much opening. I find the story poor ending, even if overall it's an enjoyable series.
The Baseball episode was the the best one.

HHhaha, I liked the baseball ep as well xD;; And the food competition ep >:
It was a good series, but not the absolute best. The fighting style was certainly different, and refreshing. The ending was a bit bland though... I liked Fuu the best xD
I wondered a bit after I watched Samurai Champloo, and thought "Is it popular because there were a lot of bboys at the time?" I dunno, but hyst a thought : P

Very good anime, apart from the hip hop...
It was interesting and refreshingly original despite the whole samurainess thing, and virtually all the episodes were entertaining and thats what counts, I liked the animation, the characters and the plot as well which is always good. The only problems I found where the slightly overly hip hoppy music pieces at times and the fact that they bottled out at the end by refusing to loose any of the main characters, it could have gone for the whole heart rending, no he can't be dead/dying sort of ending so just made everyone magically better again... bah... as if they had the mystical Max Payne painkillers at hand.

I enjoyed this series, loved the fight scenes, the music was nicely done, character design was good, and the comedy in it is great.
My favorite episode was the one with the baseball game, laughed a lot during that episode.
