Thats all I did to beat him on 2, how did you beat him on 1?

Haha...what level are you currently in??I worked my ass up above 70, only I can whack him real good...Since you already had many faqs...Then you should know what ability to equip...
(I used the same tactic in KH1)
All I did was get as far from him as posibble, when he start dashing towards you, take a hit FROM him and you'll get launched in air, when that time comes, flip over and start beating him like hell!!
He'll probably dodge the last hit and dissapear to somewhere else...(coward eh...)
Keep on doing this until he start using that freaky heartless angel thingy...You should know whether you are able to knock him down or not...If you can't, prepare to use those items you had stocked up...
And for the meteor thing(dark fiery balls flying towards you), use the same strategy, keep as far as possible and dodge it by dashing(make sure you know where you're dodging!Cause' you won't want to head to a dead end!)
When he uses the fire pillars, juz keep on dashing away...you'll be just fine...
Yup, that's it...I used this tactic and find it pretty easy compared to other faqs i read...Hope this helps!
Good luck and enjoy the cinmetic suite!

Hah not surprised your up against Sephiroth, probably the coolest villian that has ever existed, but im also a lezard valeth fan
Equip the skill which allows you to continue hitting like crazy when your MP has ran out (I think it was MP Rage), and time his Sin Harvest with a Curaga. The rest of the attacks can mostly be avoided/countered.

I beat him myself while still in the 60's. o.O... but yea elixirs + trinity. don't let him get ya in the air, and wait for him to give the opening for a normal combo. If he goes to do a powerful move, or you just got the mp and feel like it
trinity ^^. and if all else fails, listen to one-winged angel. (hehehehehe unleash your demon). but yea gl

I've never really had a lot of trouble with this fight. I beat him without even having to heal too much at ~lvl 65 (just after Sora fights Roxas and gets final form). Here's a huge list of the stuff I've been doing.
Get the glide ability and level it up because it's the best tool in this fight (if you have to leave out one of your growth abilities, make sure it's dash because there's not too much use for it in this fight). Also have "Second Chance" "Once More" "MP haste" & "MP rage" abilities. Fill sora's inventory with elixers.
As soon as the fight starts press the triangle button because he always starts with that insane combo. If you have the final keyblade you can get away with using your trinity ability a few times during the fight to quickly hack his life-bar down, otherwise don't bother because you won't get your MP back fast enough to heal (only use it if you've got plenty of elixers left). Don't be afraid to get in his face and interrupt his attacks. Don't get cocky either, get in his face and smack him a few times, then retreat. If you keep attacking for too long he'll counter.
When he uses the pillars of fire glide away because they pull you in if I remember correctly (even if they don't, you need to back up so you're ready to beat on him as soon as the attack stops)
When he summons the orbs of darkness glide around the entire arena in a wide circle, he won't be able to hit you most of the time.
-WARNING- If he starts to hover with his hands above his head, drop whatever you're doing and knock him silly because he's about to use his "Soul Harvest". If you can't get to him in time, then run like hell and use one of your elixers. He doesn't try to use it too often, but be aware.
You fight alone so that doesn't make sense.

If your at least level 80 the fight is a breeze. I beat him the first time I fought him and it was almost pathetic. I tried my friends file when Sora was about 50 but he didn't have anything such as the Ultima Weapon or any good armor so Sephiroth kicked my ass.
I beat him at level 82. With Ultima Weapon (for MP Hastega). I used only hi-potions.
First, you need to prepare the ability. Hi-Jump, Dash, Double Jump (uh... i forgot the name but you get it from leveling Master Form), and Glide (it's optional). Get the maxed level if you can, need some effort to level the forms but it's worth it.
Another abilities you need are .. uh um... i forgot the name but it enables you to recover and attack the enemy immediatly, and the spiral attack helps you to get close to enemy while attacking in the air. Combo plus is important, it helps you if you have many. The finisher and finishing plus will help you alot to eat his HP. And another passive abilities that help you with MP and survival.
The Battle:
DON'T JUMP TO EVADE. That's dangerous since after you jump, you can't really change direction, and BAM! he got you in air combo. Use only Dash to evade. The thousand slash (or what ever you called) can be blocked with triangle. Make sure you stopped and prepare to press triangle when the sky turn dark. You can't block the attack if you're still in the air. And thats dangerous.
Now, you have 3 chances to hit him:
1. After you blocked the thousand slash, immediately hit him with all your combo!
2. After you got hit by his uppercut slash, he'll teleport and try to air combo you. Press X (or square?) to activate the aerial recovery + attack ability, and you got him in the air, continue the combo.
3. "Decent, Heartless Angel!" watch out when he's floating. Quickly press O button to hi-jump, and double jump directly to him, and press attack button to attack him (spiral attack will help you to get close). Watch out, if you fail, your HP will be drained to 1, and your MP will be emptied.
Just don't get reckless by attacking him without getting these 3 chances.

It's been way too long since I played KH2, but I had beaten Sephiroth. Like you say, it's very frustrating at first. My first two tries made me nearly snap my controller in half, but I finally figured out what to do on the third try, and it was uber-easy.
I can't help you, as it's been way too long since I played that fight, but I'm sure with all of the suggestion's above, it's more than enough. ^.~
