This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Story is good
Graphic are good
but the game play just sucks all you do is just run around waiting for a bar to fill up the old way was better than this even Final Fantasy Crastal Chonicals was better even thoe it had no story
How do you get though play a hour of this game?

Well, i guess the battle system ruined everything.

At first glance i enjoyed the FMV, nice graphic just like the FMV from Dirge of Cerberus. The stories also good, since it's Final Fantasy. But after i tried the battle, i became totally confused.
Moreover, i just beat Tales of The Abyss and just get used to Real time battle. And that's not really a good thing in FFXII. I pressed X and X and X so many time but the characters won't do even an action.
The gambit system is also hard to set. This gambit system looks like an AI system, but it's not like AI in other games.

Yeah a whole lot of people say that too. I haven't played it but from what people tell me the storyline isn't that great. The first had a better storyline, the second one is just about yuna looking for tidus, right?

Umm, this game isn't a follow-up to FFX...In fact, it's set in a completely different world. =/

Anyway, from what I've seen of the new gameplay, it isn't bad, although they should've stuck to the basic's of a Final Fantasy RPG, rather than worry about making a whole new battle system.

It's not that bad actually, the story and the graphics are great. it has also a well-designed character. the only problem there, was the battle system. it's not that hard to get used to the controls. it's just same with the other game. it's just a matter of getting used to it.

I don't mind the battle system that much I like the story so far and the graphics are superb.

I still want to get Dirge of Cerebus asap.

The battle system sucks if you are alone, with the group get more interesting, i don't leave the group in "gambit", like sonicver2 said, it's useless, even that way the battle system is not great either, but it's something that you can endure for the storyline and graphics.

What I ahve come to learn is that preyy much every thing gets better as you go along. Including the Gameplay. so it started off kinda slow for me but its good now. only thing that really irked me was some of the voice action... well either way my FFXII adventure is on hold till I find out why I cant get sound on my ps2 T-T

I personally love the battle system. As to the "running around waiting for the bar to fill up" I assume you mean the ATB bar (shows up to the left of the character names). This convention has been in every core FF game made, except 10 and 11, so I'm failing to see your problem with it if you've played other FF games before.

Course, if you've never played a FF game before in your life, then I understand that it could be a bit odd. ^_^

You can also try opening the settings screen and switching battle mode from "Wait" to "Active" which means that opening a menu will NOT pause the action, if you're looking for a more challenging/real-time system.

When you say "old way" I am assuming you mean the turn based system like in Final Fantasy X. I mean there really isn't a difference between the turn based system and the Active Time Bar system.

The ATB system is like the Turn Based system with a time bar to let you know who's turn will be next, so your preference for either one cancels out. Active Dimension Battle system in FFXII is a bit different from the ATB system instead of letting you select a command for a character when their time bar fills and then performing that command in a ATB system. The ADB system lets you select a command for any character before it is their turn so it kind of puts more strategy into the game, but this means you are not using the Gambits. So I don't know why everyone is complaining that the ADB system is anything new when it is very similar to the ATB that has been in most Final Fantasy games?

With the Gambits you don't have to worry about things like healing because you can set each Characters A.I. with different priorities like healing any character who's HP is below 50% using Cure or Cura. This makes things much more easy and manageable especially during Boss fights. You can also set things for offense like attacking an enemy that is attacking a ally or party leader. At times when fighting normal monsters I don't have to do anything besides moving them and my characters can take care of normal enemies by themselves, but during boss battles you will have to step in because they can do some nasty things that may not be set in your Gambits or you don't have access too. For those confused about how to use the Gambits once you know how to use it will make your life much easier when playing, but if you want more of a hands on approach you can always turn off the Gambits for your characters and do it the old fashion way.

I beat the game last week and clocked in at 170 hours. I really enjoyed the game overall and I am still playing it to beat all the Monster Hunts. I am at the 2nd from the last hunt, which is Behemoth King.

I actually liked the battle system, thought it was neat, once i had gambits setup properly though it got kind of boring since all you really had to do then was walk around and evrything would just happen automatically, but still during boss fights it'll keep you on your toes somewhat.

I would say I was neutral on the battle system. On release day, while waiting in line to purchase the game, I was trying the game out on the system stand/booth in Gamestop and tried fighting some enemies. I was disappointed at first, because they scrapped the ideal of the ATB turn based battle (I shouldn't say scrapped, but changed the system altogether from the conventional select command, stay in one spot fighting style). We're now allowed to free roam, with battles in real-time, and a gauge that limits your actions. It feels like an MMORPG, where you're in a party, taking on monsters big and small, to utilizing skills and abilities that work like "buffs" on online RPGs. I didn't get to play much because my friend borrowed my game and system, but some of my other friends played it and I got to see how some of the later battles looked like and they were pretty interesting. I tend to be judgmental on games based on features, but in the end, I find someway to like it. Change is good (sometimes?) In this case I can embrace the change and enjoy the game and story more. Others may not welcome the re-vamped battle system.

I think if they just used the system they used in Crastal Chronicals than it would be better than this crap battle system they used... hey it beats running around in a circle waiting for a stupid gauge.

Have you played past Final Fantasy games before like FFVII? Because most of the Final Fantasy games use this system, but the only difference is you get to move instead being fixed into one place. Most RPG's have you wait for your turn so you probably don't like RPGs since Crystal Chronicles is more like a Action RPG like Kingdom Hearts and not a traditional RPG like FFXII. So you probably just don't like traditional RPGs, but you may like RPGs like Tales of the Abyss. Also there are certain tiles on the License Board that cuts the time for your time bar to fill up so later on in the game your characters will attack more often then in the beginning of the game since you probably acquired the Swiftness Tile.
