Huh? live action? like with real people?? that sounds nice, i think what japanese people did with the animated series was HOR-RI-BLE (and i love the manga, so it was a major turn off). can you say where you found it? or if you downloaded it, from where? that way i can judge it myself.

Actually, there's already a Taiwanese live-action version of the anime. It's called Meteor Garden (there are two seasons to it I believe for the live-action).

Those living in Asia with access to Taiwan channels would have already seen it. I gave this series a miss since I didn't liked the group F4. It's all 4 guys with good looks but mediocre singing skills.

The japanese version is MUCH better than the Taiwanese one. I mean, there's a lot of faults in Meteor Garden. Dao Ming Si (Doumyoji Tsukasa) doesn't have a violent big sister. Secondly, he's not so violent himself. I mean, the real Tsukasa is really violent. Just look at Tsukasa in Japanese version. That's the real Tsukasa that we saw in manga and anime. Third, he's not as "stupid" as the real Tsukasa. He actually wrote "Kazu" for "Rui" kanji name? And he's not even funny... I agree with Dias. The Taiwanese F4 is just a bunch of guys with good looks, but zero skills in both singing AND acting. But the F4 in Japanese version is really a singer. The guy whom play Tsukasa, Matsumoto Jun is from group ARASHI. He also an actor.. You can see him in Kimi wa Petto (also a manga adaptation) as Momo. The other three, is also an actor. And, I really like Makino Tsukushi instead of San Chai. She's the real Tsukushi from the manga and anime! Oh yeah, I also love Matsushima Nanako as Tsukasa violent sister, Tsubaki! I mean, wow! I never thought that Nanako could act as someone violent as Tsubaki.
Overall, I really love it. But I heard there's only 9 episodes of it. Really?? I don't think it's enough.. ;_;

So if I understand what has been said that there is a Japanese and a Taiwanese live action series. I knew about Meteor Garden but there's another one? *howls* I sooo want broadband *sobs*
I'm currently watching the Hana Yori Dango Live action too...I would say that anime is not well drawn, the manga is reli funny. I've also seen the Taiwanese Drama of Hana Yori Dango, it's mostly like the Live action, with a few subtle differences in the appearing of the characters. Thought I do think that the Doumyouji in the Taiwanese version is a lot more handsome than the Doumyouji in Japanese Live Action, just a matter of opinion I guess~~~^^

I know that i'm going to regret this question but, why do the actor have to have good singing voices?
Are you referring to the Taiwanese version? It's because the actors for Meteor Garden, are actually singers. They form a band called F4. And their singing sucks. Their popularity as an band/artiste is just based on their looks and not singing skills, which kinds of irritates me.

I liked this Live Action sooooooo much i cant describe it.
every week i was waiting for HYD (every saturday), and then @ episode six i saw that there were only 9 episodes... like a dagger in your heart :P
i really liked it.
still have to watch the anime but canat find it anywhere.
right now i've ordered Boys Over Flowers Vol.1 (manga) @ the local manga store (and there aren't that many in holland)
every week i was waiting for HYD (every saturday), and then @ episode six i saw that there were only 9 episodes... like a dagger in your heart :P
