Characters:
Trust me. You will grow to love the characters here. Well, at least from what I have seen from the first episode so far. You have Seto Ichitaka, a nice guy at heart, and yet a complete pervert. The school idol, Yoshizuki Iori, who the main character is trying to express his feelings to. Now, the only one missing is the childhood friend that comes out of the blue. (*hint*) Characters are nicely drawn. No characters totally out of the blue in terms of appearance just yet, and I doubt there will be. Let's see how the OVAs will go at this.

Story:
Based on the manga by Masakazu Katsura. A teenage romance which tells the story of Seto Ichitaka who is in love with his classmate and school idol, Yoshizuki Iori. Unfortunately, he is too shy to tell her his true feelings. When he does make an attempt, a misunderstanding prevents him from telling the truth. Things just get more complicated when his childhood friend, Itsuki Akiba suddenly comes back to his life. The story might be cliched for most of you, but this isn't one of those complicated stories that make you wrench your brains out. Give it a shot.

Just in case you are curious on why the title is I''s, here is a little something that I found in Wikipedia.

Animation:
Nice character drawing, and the use of colors throughout the show is very easy on the eyes. The character reactions, especially Seto's, are nicely defined. The way the characters exhibit their emotions are very realistic. You can feel the happiness or sadness that each one of them feels. Comedic faces are used, but don't expect the "anime faces" that you see in other romance or comedy animes.

In terms of the the fansub groups, C1Anime subs faster than Anime-Fansubs. AF's sound quality is much better than C1's, and you can definitely hear the difference. The picture size of AF is also bigger than C1. Not by much, but it is noticeable. Also, AF does those little sidenotes that explain some of the character's conversations. Their translations are different from each other in certain areas as well. Not much other complaints. So it is pretty much your personal preference at the end.

Music
The OP just has this gentle upbeat to it. It could be type that you end up listening to over and over just to calm yourself down. Not much music was heard through the show, and if there were one, it was a calming piano melody or a cute voice over. I guess as the show progresses, we will get to know more about the subtlety of the soundtrack. The ED is a bit more perky than the OP, but I like the OP more.

Verdict
If you have heard of I''s before this, there was another OVA made from it. A 2 episode OVA that recieved nothing but hatred from it's dedicated followers. This remake will be spanned between 6 OVAs. It is pretty much a retelling of the manga. From what I have heard (correct me if I am wrong) an episode will be released 1 per month. So you will have to wait for the next one for awhile. Overall, this will be the anime I will be looking forward to. The first showing left an impression on me to come back and see how this romance unfolds.

I leave you on two tidbits. Do you recognize anything about the 3 main characters? Also, if you have the chance, download the little special that is included in the OVA. It is really funny. It tells of Seto Ichitaka's daydreams...

Well I really like the I's manga and when the OVA was released way back, I'm too, is one of those people who are really disappointed of how the OVA goes...

Well this time, I's pure is a remake of the manga version... and I think they would follow the manga more closely and avoid adding that is not part of the manga. Its really nice to watch and I'm looking forward to watch the entire I's Pure series...

I' ve read I''s long time ago, along with Katsura Masakazu's other works. I love DNA^2 the best, short and sweet. By the way, it was explained in the manga why I''s........and it's pronounced as "aizu" .

For sure I''s Pure is much better the old I''s OVA, which I found hard to watch due to its quality as the characters were badly drawn in it. I''s Pure has much better quality and it follows the manga so it will be a nice anime remake of the manga. Too bad its release dates are so far apart.

Actually, I've just d/l it after reading this thread. And I must admit it's much better than the OVA. The design is pretty good, I'm happy coz they follow the manga storyline.. Thus, I guess why it was I"s PURE. It was a pure manga adaption. Plus, I love the way they made the "flashback" during the first episodes.. I thought they'll forget about it... Tee-hee... Still, I reccomend to anyone whom hasn't watch it. It's as good as the manga. You won't be dissappointed.

How many episodes will i"s pure have? i watched a video titled "seto's diary", or something like that, and it was like a cutscene from i"s pure where seto and iori are alone in seto's room... and all it showed was seto's fantasies.. the end!

lol is it nice? i hope it will be, since i just finished ichigo 100% in anime form, and it left me wanting more, though the story in the anime is a bit different with the manga.. XD

It's not a fake ^_^. and it's still unlicensed.. It's just been released on Japan TV recently... And I heard the released date for 2nd episodes is still far away... ;_;

Haven't watched the anime but the manga was very nice. i enjoyed it a lot. the OVA sucked big time. well i guess they just made it for the sake of making an anime... X[

I hope it stays close to the manga... so far it's all good. I just don't like that one episode per month thing. And they're going to fit all of the story in six episodes? I think I heard six... tell me I'm wrong.

I's was very interesting, but i felt that the graphics were very outdated. Is the i's animation coming out soon?

The character design is very cute, I love it. and i 've completed to read the manga.
