Most Tear-jerking Anime
Grave of the Fireflies. No contest there whatsoever. What made it so sad was that the events really took place and the actions of the characters were very innocent. I felt pretty depressed and sad after watching it. Even though I own it, I don't even have the urge to watch it again. Maybe in a couple more years.

I didn't actually cry, myself, but "Waltz for Venus" (episode 8 of Cowboy Bebop) really bothered me. I don't know if moved would be the word, but...

The one scene in Shuffle! where

SPOILER (click to view)I would be so depressed if that were to happen to me...
Id say in kima ga nozumu ein. id just sad how he has to choose. id say that and shuffle as well. same choice
Hmm I'm alone in this one so far but my saddest moment is the final episode of Chrno Crusade...even though its kinda expected from the beginning it still makes me wanna cry everytime I watch it.
Hmm also a few scenes from Twelve Kingdoms (Junni Kokki)...not so much sad though as emotional. I love that in an anime...

GTO was kind of sad on some of the parts with Tomoko, but that's the magic of GTO... it doesn't stay sad for too long :)

I've watched Air, Chobits and some of the other series mentioned here, but for me the one anime that actually brought tears to my eyes was the emotional climax in Mai HiME. Unforgettable and truly a great series!
I think i really love the endings of the anime that make me cry... i felt sad lots of times watching anime... but the MORE tear-jeker are:
1. Gankutsuou
2. Sentou Yousei Yukikaze
3. Soukyuu no fafner
That is my opinion XD

For me its not really those scenes that they try to make sad that make me sad, but simple things that really touch me.
Like in Mai-HiME, I mean most of the deaths were like...oh no, he/she dies too??
Chrno Crusade, my god NO anime death scene was as heart wrenchingly beautiful as that one...
Air many people mention the last scene where...
FMA had three scenes...
I will see Saikano tonight. Kimiga Nozomu Eien......the only part that shook me was at the end of the first ep where she has her accident. Apart from that it was just depressing, not sad!
For all these moments I believe that the BGM needs to be spot on (Mai Hime, FMA) or not at all (Chrno Crusade) to really make the scene more evocative.

Captain Tsubasa (A Soccer based Anime only known in European Countries incl. Germany):
There's a Character that I like in the Series. His Name is Kojiro Hyuga, and he becomes Tsubasa's strongest rival in Japan...
-Kojiro Hyuga's past. He's a lonesome hardworking, ambitious boy whose father died of overworking himself. He takes responsibilty of his family by playing Soccer and working part times. He's ruthless and merciless as FC Meiwa's Team Captain, but especially to his opponents. He plays very tough Soccer style... but he's like that because he's from a poor family and wants to help'em out...
-Before the you 14- Youth-tournament after Qualification Finals, Kojiro Hyuga left his Team to go under a Special Training under his former Coach Kira. Because he deserted his Team and arrived late for the tournament, Kojiro's Coach Kitazume didn't wanna let him play. Kojiro was so shocked that he despeately along with his Fellow Teamates try to convince the Coach to think it over... Hyuga didn't play until the Finals. And one day before Finals, he went on his Knees and begged his Coach to let him play... and later on his Teammates did the same. "Every time I see this special Scene, I almost start to cry"... The proud "Tiger" Kojiro Hyuga begging on his Knees and his Team mates follow his example.
In the end Kojiro past the Coaches Challenge and Hyuga was up for the Finals against his Rival Tsubasa

I'm shocked to see that KGNE hasn't been posted as often......i mean....i guess it's a love-hate thing.....mostly because most of the people that i talk to that hated have never been in a relationship before...but that's besides the point......
the ending is the kicker....it gives you an ultimatum that you just cannot refuse....
