It's fantastic. I'm up to Volume 15 now, though Hachi is so very frustrating and sometimes you want to strangle her. >_<

As for them being sluts...i disagree, people have sex. Alot. They do it no more than others who are in their 20's. :P

Does anyone know how many volumes the Nana series is in total? I'm going to have to collect them all eventually. If there are a lot of volumes I'm going to cry because I'm already collecting Hana Kimi which is 23 volumes, and Fruits Basket which is at least 20. I can feel the money draining out of my pocket!

It's a wonderful story. For starters I like the fact that they are older than your typical manga characters, that make them act (well... not always) in a more mature way. Still, there are times that you would hit the characters for they stupidness (Hachi -__-).
Lately I'm watching the anime. Is as good as the manga, the character design is quite alike to Yazawa's and the music is wonderful.

About the artbook; a friend of mine has it. It's pretty good, I think it's worth buying it.

I was really suprised to find that I actually liked Nana. I'm not a huge fan of manga that's really on the Shoujo end of things but I gave it a chance when flipping through Shoujo Beat one day ( I was looking for the Junko Mizuno drawn horoscopes). I actually loved it and have read the two manga that have been released so far. I think the characters are fun and goofy but well developed. I absolutely loved the first volume that showed their backstories.

And as for them being "sluts" because they have sex with people they love, I completely disagree. People have sex. Especially with those they love. Especially in their early twenties. That's just the real wolrd and Ai Yazawa is just depicting it as so. Stop being so judgemental, especially to people who aren't real!

Nana is one of my favourites because it's kinda realistic. nothing against furuba and co. but a story about 2 girls finding their ways is more interesting in my opinion. and in opposite to old yazawa manga like gokinjo monogatari the seriousness improved a lot. but sure nana has its funny moments and this mixture makes this manga one of the best ever drawn ^^

Sex as a natural thing (not talking about hentai and yaoi here) is not very common in manga, specially in the shojo manga that goes outside of Japan so to some people it's weird. But I find it more appealing and real than a girl blushing because her crush looked at her.

I really like how realistic Yazawa-sempai is, even though I've never been to Tokyo before, I've seen pictures of the real Jackson Hole/ Vivinne Westwood or whatnot. I as a reader can really relate to her characters and the problems they face.

Yeaa i agree with you there, lacuslotus... i saw nana 7.8, which was very interesting btw, and it had some amazing facts. i found out vivienne westwood was a real company from there ^^;
the best thing about nana is that the story involves everyone, not only girl to boy. everyones' drama and stuff... and how all characters have their own personality <3 emoticon

That's true too aatu, about the different character personalities and dramas. I don't know if I even knew how to write a story and give a guy a more acurate personality then what I already assume.

I lik Nana Ive been reading it in Shojo Beat I lik Nana O and Shin is kinda kool but I cant stand Shoji now because of wat he did 2 Hachi that so was not kool and 2 think that he used to be 1 of my favorite characters

But wat i lik the fact that the story is about rock its really hard to find a good rock manga out there Nana is definately the best that ive seen so far

I love NANA. I'm up to chapter 57 (by Takoyakis scanlations). I love Shin/Reira, I think they're my favorite pairing in NANA. (Other than Yasu/Nana O., but that's not even canon -- yet!)

The movie was good, and though I love Paku Romi I don't like the anime at all.

Aaah! I thought I was the only one rooting for Yasu/Nana! *happy* I still like Ren, but I'd prefer Nana with Yasu anyday.

I follow Takoyakis scanlations as well. I was so psyched that they kept getting their scanlations up so fast, every 3 days actually. It's too bad that after they get chapter 59 released, Nana will only be scanlated once a month. *sigh*

I thought the movie was really well done. Music was top notch in my opinion. I love most of the actors they chose for all the characters too, but I was kinda iffy about the Shin and Nobu actors they chose. =T

What a great shoujo! NANA is just too kickass. All the characters are likeable, and even the ones that I have a Love/Hate feeling for are cool. *Takumi <_<* But I just love Shin. He's so adorable and vunerable, i just wish I could hug him and hold him on my lap. ( in a fangirly way, i knowit's not possible)
