Anyone out there read Eyeshield 21? The anime did the manga a huge injustice. For anyone who hasn't read this manga, its a good read. It centers around this high school kid named Kobayakawa Sena and his adventures in American football.

Personally I think Eyeshield 21 is more gripping than Bleach or Naruto and has a much better storyline.

I love Eyeshield 21 too. Unfortunately it isn't too popular becasue i don't think people have much interest in sports manga. The storyline isn't much to me, but I decided to read because it looked interesting. This manga has also gotten me into football, not playing it.

I like it too^^ and maybe because it's a sports manga, I think there is not enough sports manga, that change of the classical shonen with fights, and it get me into american football too! In my country there is no american football, before the reading of this manga, I knew nothing of the american football^^

I've seen this Manga and it has a nice story line but I have not read much only the first part were the guy steals the cell phone numbers

I really like Eyesheild 21! Before I read this manga, i always thought that American Football is absolutely boring but when i read this manga.. i love american footbal!! not much people know it though.. sometimes i ask my friend if they read Eyeshield 21, they said 'What, Eyeshield 21??'

I think most people don't quite like sport mangas so they didn't read this..

Has the manga been completed yet? I'm already reading a ton of manga that are still ongoing so I don't feel like starting a new series unless it has already been completed. I'm already a huge NFL fan, so I think that an American Football manga will be interesting to me.

The anime for Eyeshield 21 is bad? I didn't know as I haven't watched it yet. I love the manga, though. It's one of my new favorites. Hiruma is my favorite.

I honestly only started reading it because of pictures that I saw of Hiruma, but I got really into the story once I started reading it. All of the characters are great and it's refreshing to see the opposing teams' points of view as well. I think more people should read this series.

I love Eyeshield21! At first, I don't like it very much. But my brother insists I read them, and to my surprised I love it very much! The character is great, their personality, strength and determination. And I also love the arts! Honestly, when I first reading this manga, I know nothing about American Football. I thought that they're the same as rugby. Haha..

Haha, everyone falls for Eyeshield 21 eventually. You can't, not like it. The stuff is basically genius. Hiruma is probably the perfect QB because while he is lacking in all class departments other than skill, he more than makes up for it in sheer lack of constraints. He uses nearly everything on the field to win, even the weather. The best part is like when the announcer is like "Its the Hail Mary pass!" and then Hiruma was like "Don't ask favors from god." and then throws the ball like a bullet.

The eyshield 21 manga is drawn expertly and hilariously. hiruma is beyond funny in the series.

I like how the character design has evolved, reminds me of bleach. the thing that is horrible about the anime is that its missing all of subplots that really make eyeshield 21 shine. i heard that since the release of the manga, the enrollment in japan's own american football has risen significantly.

i like the style Hiruma, Kurita and Musashi was designed as characters.. it seems like the mangaka didn't seems to make those three so close together (seems like best friend??) but i think they're really close.

They are. They were actually the first 3 members of the official Deimon football team. Musashi quit for unknown reasons, but in reality, they are actually the ones who are the most passionate about football. Kurita shows it the most openly while Hiruma shows it through is spartan training methods. Musashi may be believed to be the weakest but basically he was discouraged by the inability of the team to shine with just them.

Kurita- Foward/Lineman -Sheer power
Komusubi-Lineman -Power and determination
Huh Huh brothers- Lineman -Lack of constraints and conformity to rules

It is actually believable that the last 3 actually do have skills although they probably are below the Huh Huh brothers. In total this is a team that fills in on the bare minimals but they have the ability to even surpass nearly every football team in the game mainly due to the fact that while the opposing teams have very strong aces, this team is made up nearly ENTIRELY out of aces.

I just started reading Eyeshield 21 and its really good right now... I would've never thought that such a manga could be so funny. Its really disappointing to find that the anime was bad though, but at least the manga is good :]
