Hi!

After several weeks of ordeal, I'm now presenting my second vector(YAY! ) to be submitted as a scan, if it passes the AP standards, and maybe I'll be creating a wallpaper from it also.

Anyways, this vector came from a Tsubasa manga scan which is...

Thanks to ReiRonie for sharing the scan.

The coloring was the hard part on this vector project because I don't know the principles of shadowing and so hatesyou help me out by sharing a model for shadowing. Aside from her help, I read some tutorials for creating shadows which were from deviantart.com (Thanks to them!)

After all the coloring and shadowing techniques I learned. Sakura looked like this..

Guys, you have read that I suck at shadowing and I'm not sure if I was able to do Sakura's shadowing correctly. So, your advices are really appreciated.

Also I'm having troubles with imageshack. Do you know other free image hosts that offers the same services as imageshack?

I must say nice vector, if you wanted you could go with more additional layer of highlights but atm it looks great.

I use imageshack all the time, but if its giving you the hibbijibies try photobucket

Excellent vector, though i think the line art could be skinnier in my opinion. I hope to see a wall made out of it. ;]

I agree about the line art, but that all depends on what you plan to do with it in your wall. don't flatten it or rasterize it before you finish the wall.

As is, the vector is fine. :] if you want to go a bit extra, there are some things to think about:

-- thin the outlines in the really thick parts; unless it's something cartoon-ish, thick lineart isn't the best
-- change highlights on her clothes to a shade of pink from the current white
-- change shadings on the paler portions of her dress so that they are less saturated (pastel colors shouldn't be shaded with full, bold colors :x)
-- consider the lighting direction more; some parts are a little conflicting and with minimized highlights and shading, it's difficult to tell where the light is coming from...but most people don't care about this last point. xD

...But this is Sakura after all. Anyway, the vector is looking really good thus far. I have to agree on some of the previous commenter; the lineart is a bit think. As for the shading, maybe add more to the clothing folds. I think what would also make it look really nice, is add vector patterns within the kimono , but that's just my suggestion.

Thank you for all, your comments. I'd be cleaning the lineart again, I agree that some parts were really thick. I'll just make lines a bit thinner, and with regard to the shading I'll have to tidy up the shading.

@damoser, what do you mean by

Not too shabby, not at all...

this ones probably one of the best vectors ive seen for clamp, yet vectors alone (id have to say my favorites are anon's gl vectors) but yeah, this is ready to wall, and ready to be used by me when youre finished.
