Can you listen to music while reading manga?

Not many have the concentration to listen to music while reading their favorite manga. If you are one of the ones who can or do, what kind of music goes along with your manga. I realize that this isnt a question for everyone, just curious if anyone else enjoys music during these activities.
Me? I cant listen to anything too "hard", i prefer a softer less voiced song, preferably j-pop

What do you mean,
What concentration do you need?
I listen to music when I'm reading manga or playing a game... or posting here, surfing the net et cetera. For me it's ambient music. I may listen to animeish music from time to time, but a lot of the time it's something simple, net-radio for example is good and fresh ~mostly.
I never had problems with concentration.
I can easily ignore things. A little too easily actually.

I can sometimes, but normally I'm just listening to my co-workers talk. XD If I do listen to musice, it's a variety of things...pretty much whatever is either on my iPod or iTunes.
I've got two different playlists that I use when surfing the web and reading (manga, mostly). There is one list that's filled with JPop entirely, and features my favorite anime theme songs. The other is mostly American rock, with a couple of JRock songs thrown in. I also have another mix which is techno music, but I don't listen to that one as much. There also are other lists, like a PL that is full of songs related to Death Note, most of them parody songs, which I can listen to while reading DN, and another list that's just plain random. I mean seriously, it's got anime theme songs, a bit of rock, some techno, a bit of 80s music, today's pop, and a bit of, *gasp* rap! So yeah, I listen while doing pretty much everything, and if you look at my play counts you can tell! xD

I can't read and listen to music ever xD
I can, but usually don't do it because I can't concentrate on the manga ^^
Music and manga are a nice combination. Ideally, like to listen to music from a series related to the manga I am reading to give it a good effect, and a feel for what is going on. For example, I like to listen to "Romantic Summer" by Halko Momoi and Sakura Nogawa while reading the first volume of Seto no Hanayome. Or if I want to dive into the world of Galaxy Angel, I like to play Ryoko Shintani's "YOU GET A CHANCE!" as I read a chapter focusing on Milfeulle.
When the right music goes with the right manga, you feel like you're in the story, and it makes you want to go deeper into the plotlines. Sometimes, you don't have it, and you have to mix and match. Utena's OP "Rinbu Revolution" by Masami Okui is an example of a versatile music to listen while reading, because it has that energy and audial aesthetics that go beyond the manga by Chiho Saito.
Otherwise, JPop, JRock, and mainstream tunes from my iPod keep me in the mood while reading a volume that I just purchased fresh from Kinokuniya or Borders. The right songs, I think, are the most versatile. It's true.

Of course, why not?
i always do it!
i always do it!
I concentrate on the manga, so music is not needed even I am in a crowd...
But if I read a book in a noise situation, I will listen to music to block the sound outside~~~~~

I've generally got something playing in the background no matter what I'm doing- but I particularly enjoy music while reading manga. Playing music similar to the genre I'm reading really enhances the feel of the story.

bye bro!

^-^
