This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Lol... It all depends to your liking... I really recomend a class... I am currently taking Spanish classes and I am learning very quick... Sure learning through books are really good too but books do not answer questions and neither do anime... I never knew that someone could learn japanese through anime o_O... It sound like fun, I should try it.. * puts it on to do list* Well good luck with all of that :) hopefully you can learn Japanese really quick...

The best way to learn Japanese is to be born in Japan.

Failing that, classes are your best bet. You can only get so far with books. That will get you started, however. I'd advise getting books with cds so you can actually hear the pronounciations.

The best way is taking classes. It is just like doing exercise, if you exercise at home. Most of the time, you be too lazy to do anything, but if you were at the gym. Because you are at a gym you will do exercise and alot of it. But the problem is, going to the gym. Just like, having to go to the classes. But the best choice is class. Learn the basic from it, and from there you can take you knowlegde to watching J-drama, or anime. Read alot of japanese book, have conversation with japanese people. Learning a language is hard, but it can be fun. ^_^ don't give up.

I think the best way is taking classes, or with book.. if you use a book, all you need to do is try to understand the grammar... and try to start with katakana and hiragana, not with kanji... then try to remember all common words
if you want to be more fun, why dont you try translate lyric from anime OST?
there's many ways to learn japanese... but it's easier if you mastered the basic ^^

Well the best way is to get an instructor... self study will help you out to know different wordings and such but enrolling into a class or getting a personal instructor would be very much beneficial since it can help you with the conversation aspect that book does not give...

Always take classes, so you learn basics and important stuff like grammer, but always watch anime and read manga too! They help~!

Basically, what everybody is saying is, in order to learn Japanese the best way possible, you need to be immersed in it. You need to simulate yourself in a Japanese world, where Japanese is the only language you hear, just like a child learning his first language: He learns by immersion in his environment. Slowly, you'll begin to develop it and have a feel for it, and sooner or later, you'll start speaking it too!

The standard way is by taking classes too and reading textbooks about it and that such. You can learn how Japanese works through classes and reading textbooks, and you can develop experience on your own time by actually speaking it and interacting with other people in Japanese.

I'm taking Spanish classes at school, and all this bookwork and lecture gets boring after awhile, hence why my teacher almost always speaks to us in Spanish and allows us to talk in Spanish to really gain experience in the language.

My friend learned japanese from watching anime...although he watches a crap load of anime...like 3 series a week..you could probably do that. although i would imagine it would be much more time consuming that just going to a class...or perhaps even making some japanese friends or going to japan would prolly be even easier then classes...although sometimes its alot more stress full..

Well to do that i think joining a japanese language coure will do the trick... i am hoping to learn japnese some day... that will help me to read all the mangas in japnese and watch all the animes that are not yet dubbed in english like rorouni kenshin ova...

well dont know if there is any...dubbed in english... i saw a yaer back from a friend of mine... the OVAs were not english... i had to o through the subtitles... well the subtitles were good enough to bring down my tears... how would it be like listening to it... i still cant imagine...

Probebly the best way to learn would be to spend some serious quality time in japan... but sometimes this proves to be a bit difficult so i would go as close as you can to really submurging yourself in the lanuage. this would entail taking a class, reading books and watching anime too. the more you really lissen to it and hear it the better you'll be.

The best way would probably to take a class, or go to japan, or take a class IN japan XD

you need the class so the teacher can help you through it, and you need the class so you can hear the pronounciations and things, then get books to aid the studyign ^_^

I'd advise you to go to classes and prepare some basic Japanese. After that, if possible, you could go to Japan and stay there for sometime to get used to the Japanese environment. I believe you can get used to the chatting in Japanese after sometime there.. If you couldn't go to Japan, the best way will be to watch Japanese shows/movies/animes to get used to their pronounciation beside taking classes.. Finding Japanese friends would also help a great deal.. Ganbatte! ^^

Yea, best would be to go live in japan for a few years. like go live with a japanese family there, or get an exchange job, or something. (kinda gotta be over 18 for this) classes will teach you gramma etc., but doesnt necessarily help you speak in the real world. like if you spoke english with perfect grammar, it just sounds kind of wierd. real life is inundated with slang that isnt usually tought in classes.
teching yourself with a book has the same limitations of a class, you dont get to know the slang at all, and on top of that you dont get to hear the correct pronunciation. japanese pronunciation is a lot different than english, they have sounds we dont, we have sounds they dont. their letters dont correspond perfectly with our letters.
you can teach yourself a fairly large variety of phrases and words from watching anime, and you get the pronunciation down ok, and maybe even some slang, but you cant learn to read much at all from it, and you cant learn grammar, and all the rules of it from knowing phrases. to someone who doesnt know any japanese, if you"learn" japanese from anime it will sound like you know alot, but next to someone who learned in a class or in japan, theyll be completely over their head. (yes, even at years of 3 series per week)

sho, pack you bags and head to japan!
