Wow making stars is a lot of hard work, especially if you make a lot. i guess it all depends on the relationship you guys have. it might be a sign of a crush, or it might just be wishing you luck. i think if you make like a thousand you can make a wish or something. and people make like a thousand cranes for someone to get better etc. etc. but ya you should thank him/her it must of taken some time to make that for you :D

Not too sure how to consider the relationship. since i do like her but i dont know if she likes me or not. since im like a dense block when it comes to picking up hints and stuff
I gave the same thing to my bf for an anniversary... i actually made 1000 >.< OMG it took FOREVER!.. LOL..
but yea.. they take a lot of time to make if she really handmade them all. for me i was using it in the sense of 1000 paper cranes ((cept mine was for love ^_^ rather then good luck, or get well)) but like swtdreamerr said, it could definately be a sign of a crush.
((as i am the type of girl who kinda gives those sublte hints when i like someone; i would have definately used something like this to portray how much i liked a guy... and granted that i am also old-fashioned i would never actually tell a guy i liked em till they told me first >.< lol.. thank god my bf could see my dorky way of barely noticable flirting!))
but if you like her, maybe then it wouldn't hurt to tell her after a gift like this. or just act very impressed and interested in the gift ((but don't fake interest! LOL)) and it could lead to questions that you could ask to determine the state of your relationship... ((ex: "have you every made something like this for anyone else? seems like a lot of work!"))
anyway.. good luck ^_^ and try to pick up on any little things she may do that could mean something if she's a somewhat shy-type!

Yes, i do believe that there is a special meaning
It could mean that you are a very special friend to that person

I do know that there are meaning to these. such as the numbers of starts that are made. some number said to be lucky some said to be for love, wish, friendship, etc. almost anything you can think off. i'm not which number is for what but if you can get to a gift shop i'm sure they'll know something about it.

Those stars take a hella long time to make so giving a person a jar full of them has to mean something. At the very least, you mean something special to that perosn. Special enough to make an entire jar full of them stars.
Personally, I spend the time to make braided ribbon hearts. Those take about 4 hours to make one. I usually make two to link them together. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll be glad to provide pictures. It's braided like those... "lanyards." Kinda like the ones you make for arts & crafts.

I like to make stars too, except using straws instead of paper. It has a lot of meaning when you give a jar full of stars to someone, since you put in so much work to make the stars. After making a lot of stars though, my fingers begin to hurt a lot. So it makes me feel so much better when the person i give the stars to really appreciates my gift. Anyway... I think that the stars have a lot of meaning and it really shows that a person cares about another individual. Anyway... i'll stop ranting now...

Braided ribbon hearts? That sounds cool. I'd like to see that.
I agree that whenever someone makes an effort to create something themselves it means much more than just driving to the store to buy a gift. I'd say it's safe to assume that someone who does that thinks you're all right.

Lol... i still remember this stuff i have a bunch of it for my sisters project... i just told her a want to do it coz it looks fun to do... and yes it if indeed fun to do... :)
Show us those pics eso! I had no idea you were a handycrafts kinda guy XD
Mmm. those stars.. i used to make so many of them.
i got sick of them and changed to making roses xD
anywayz, a whole bottle of them can mean lots of different things.
it's really commonly given as anniversary or birthday presents to show affection or wishing you good luck generally.
it's not hard to make at all, but they take some time so it's really the thought that counts. ^^
