I'm just wondering what I have to do to continue downloading wallpapers. Should I post at forums? Make my own wallpapers?
I registered so that I could download wallpapers and didn't expect I would be forced to participate in any kind of conversation. Can discussion even stay enjoyable if it's forced on people? I think not. What do you others think?
Now I noticed that I can't download scans either. What does this "You need at least x papers to download this scan, your current balance is x" mean and what's it for?
This is really annoying. So many great pictures but I can't get them. It's not anyones loss if I'd get them...

I dont mind having to post to be able to download more. forums like these are actually fun to post in. and im not sure if im right or not but i think it helps with bandwidth or something cuz the contribution thing prevents massive amounts of downloading or something. not sure if that made sense or not =\

You can download wallpapers even without posting but I think its only limited to 15 per day. As for scans well yes it requires papers.
There's a limit to the amount of walls you can download per day, but for scans you need papers which you earn by posting and such... This is to prevent leechers. I think there's an FAQ or policy thing for this somewhere... And yes there is a loss if you take them without contibuting to this community... BANDWIDTH.

YOu can only download 15 wallpapers a day i belive. also you must have 50 papers to download a scan. papers are gained by posting in forums or submitins wallpapers, that sort of thing. Read the AP guide and you'll get a good understanding of how the site works.
I love the way this site works. Leeching a lot of pictures off the site is lame, it's better to help give back to the site your downloading from, it takes bandwidth and money to put all this up. IF you give back in wallpapers or discussion in the forums it's still worth it in my opinion.

Hey, i went over the limit of 15 wallpapers per day..
somewhere on tuesday...so i stopped...then i tried to view 1 wallpaper todai but the same message occured..
i tried, signing out and clearing the cookies..but it didn't help...im not sure what to do anymore...
can someone help me? cause i really like the wallpapers on this site..=\

Eh... wallpapers don't "stack".. it backtraces 24 hours and if you've hit 15 wallpapers then no more, but even if you hadn't gotten any for a week it'll still be 15 per 24 hours..... and if you don't contribute other then dowloading wallpapers/scans every day, then you'll get banned!
as for scans, you have to have papers... you can get papers by posting in forums, commenting wallpapers, or contributing wallpaper/scans to the site....
if you're only wanting to download stuff and not "give back some" then you shouldn't be in this place cuz it'd just be leeching and people get pissed about stuff like that! we are a "give and take" site, not just a "take"... this site is a place to show/make/share art with a network of friends. w/out our balance then hundreds would be coming and not "connecting" with the site other then to "get some cool wallies" and it would take the exclusiveness, closeness, and maturity away from this great site...

Can you really enjoy forced discussion? I do like talking and diving into arguments but forcing them seems just plain wrong. Conversation should be had for it's own sake, not because you want to gain something from it. At least that's what I think.

Is it so hard to post though? Once again the creator and overlord of this site (sucking up so bad) created the site not only view and retrieve walls and scans, but to interact with those who do so. Imagine making a site in which no one gives feedback to but they continue to reap the benefits of the site at the cost of your $$ and Bandwidth... It costs money man. The least you could do is post a message or two...

go post in the forums or go do something productive with your time, like making a wallpaper of your own... if you cannot find something else to do for 24 hours, then man... the situation is sadder then i thought.. :/

Not sad really. I know those scans and wallpapers would start haunting me, knowing they are there but I can't get to them. I have no qualms about posting and contributing to the site, but I'm just one of those people who dislike waiting and want everything at once. :P

Just read the guide. It's all in there. You don't have to post on the forum - you can give useful comments on walls, for example.

To say something useful I'd have to be able to make a better wallpaper so I think I'll just stick to the forums. Or can you get a paper by complimenting those walls?
