I think I'll start the battle. I've used the search link and didn't find this topic so hopefully I'm not double posting. Personally I'm a PS3 booster. I'm going with the PS3 since awesome games like Metal Gear Solid 4 (everyone should see the Tokyo Game Show trailer holy crap), Killzone, Devil May Cry, the new Final Fantasy series + many more classic PS2 games getting revamped with the impressive power of the PS3. But for me since I play mostly RPG's on the consoles the Xbox is just not known to solve the RPG niche so I don't think the Xbox360 will grace RPG gamers as well. Not only that but Xbox games just don't appeal to me, of course everyone talks about Halo, but Halo alone won't interest me. Especially since I prefer a mouse and keyboard when it comes to first person shooters.

I'm Sony/microsoft-agnostic. I'm only biased against Nintendo.
With that said, I dont think that the MGS4 trailer is that hot. it's mostly impressive because of kojima's cinematic direction. the game certainy isn't as good looking as Gears of War. But on the flip side, while the most recent anti-PS3 ammo amongst 360 fans is glorifying their version of Armored Core 4 and bashing the PS3 version, I think both versions look pretty darn similar, save for time of day changes between the two tailers.
I'm also a very jaded ex-bizarre creations fan. they've really lost their way after PGR1, and I'm not holding out uch hope for PGR3 to even come close to the sheer magnitude of their original Xbox opus, with RR6 looking like it does that doens't leave much in the way of a next gen statement on the 360 side.
I guess I could say that when Xbox launched, with just PGR and Halo, I felt compelled to buy it.This time around, it's not the case, so I'm actually going to have time to wait before I buy a 360 and wait for the PS3 launch to make up my mind.

I have yet to br impressed with eitehr system so far. Sure the graphics look great but the games so far look really...not good

PS3 is going to pown the xbox360. Althooought, at the video game store I work at, we started taking reserves for the 360 in may and just stopped about a month ago, and people are still coming up asking to reserve it. I think both will be totally wicked, but the ps3 will probably have better games ^^ Besides that, I'm not a huge xbox fan myself, heeheeehe.

I'm pretty sure that Xbox 360 would dominate the PS3. Mainly due to the point that the Xbox is going to be released first. Of course, counting out the fan boys who will buy whatever system that they're into, the system with the dominate games would get the most sales. No games, no sale.
I find these "battles" quite pointless, due to the fact that each system has it's own pros and cons, and each system will certainly offer something that people can enjoy. Different most likely, but good nontheless! So why "battle"? Why not embrace them all?

hhmmm... instead of each person having their own personal opinion about the PS3 and Xbox360,
how about we put a list of things comparing the two, and make a decision for each...
cause most of these topics just start a war between PS fans and Xbox fans... [nintendo?] :P

The next gen consoles are like pc now. so powerful. the ps3 and revolution will dominate the 360.

I havent seen or heard much from it from the TV. I hope the gameplays can be as smooth as the FMV. It may take a long time for me to be able to buy one when its already out but I wold probably go for the PS3.
PS3 all the way. Itll have the games id much rather play. Xbox360 may have a few games exclusive to it. But the next generation evolution of the likes of Devil May Cry wont make me a fool in not getting a PS3 in favour of an xbox360.
This has been up several times already, so I'll repeat myself only briefly:
-- PS3: yes, for Sony seems to be the smaller devil of the two. (They are part of RIAA, but...) Good games, nice selection, backwards compatibility.
-- XBox360: no, since I dislike Micro$oft and promote Open Source. Probably will have only frag'em'ups and sport-games, like the first console.
