Martial arts
I'm a fan of martial arts and I do shotokan karate at the local dojo, the club is based in the college I'm attending and we train twice a week. Apart from that I'm into films about martial arts too.
Anyone else do any form of self defence or have an interest it?

I'm a purple belt in my local tae kwon do class. I know many people discredit tae kwon do as simple but it really doesn't matter. it's fun and I like it. :)
It's good to see your proud of what you do. My little sister is a green belt in tae kwon do, she is in competition this weekend so I'll be there to cheer her on.
I have a few belts
karate jujitsu and hou yu shin
but i always wanted to learn
jetkundo and ninjitsu the style
of bruce lee and the style of the ninja
combine those too speed stealth power
thatd be bithcin
i liked jujitsu the best though

I do kick boxing, also made a time self defence and went to a taekwondo lesson, but it was nothing for me. Did Aikido a time but i want to do japanese sword arts and some other martial arts :ninja:

I've got my blackbelt in Isshinryu karate. Martial arts are a great way to focus a person. Its merits in combat are disputable, but the personal growth it can bestow on new practicioners is definitely worth it. It's a sight to see when 20 or so screaming little children are running about, and one man steps in, speaks 1 word in a normal speaking volume, and every single one dashes into their position bolt straight and dead silent. And that's for just little kids, the benefit to adults can be so much more.
Errr. i love fighting and matail arts.my brother did quit alot and he teaches me and my dad knows all the traditional stuff so he teaches me aswell(but the real hard way like : no pain no gain way.)so i do learn quite alot from my family, its not very accurate way of learnin but its the best i can do for now.theres no tae kwon do lessons here so (T_T).
i love fighting but my mums against it "not very woman like" she says so even if i could find a good place its unlikely i could be a proffesenal martail artist.

I practice shotokan karate too!
I'm black belt (1st dan) and I'm in training for the second.
I think that karate is great, it helped me a lot to obtain selfcontrol and concentration.
Ninjitsu, yeah!
I want to learn ninjitsu too!
The only thing I don't like in karate it's that it's not allow to use weapons!
But it's great too, in particular for the self defense!

I've been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing for about five years now.
My styles go great together: BJJ for the ground and Muay-Thai for stand up.
I am seriously interested in taking kendo, but can't find a studio anywhere.
Picture the way that Wanderlei Silva fights mixed with the way that the Gracie's fight, and you get... how I fight.
To all of those who mentioned the desire to take ninjutsu (or ninpo, depending) good luck finding an authentic teacher. The last martial arts instructor that I met who claimed to know ninjutsu had a picture of him in a camo nightsuit with two machine guns in his hands on the wall of his dojo. Think Rex from Napoleon Dynamite...
And centurion, don't let people diss on your style, like my sensei always says: It's not the style, it's the individual.

I don't appreciate your anti-Semitism.
I agree with jujigtame80, if you have some dislike for the jewish thats your choice, but let's not start any issue between religions.
It's great to see that there are plenty of you doing some form of martial arts, and suprising that some of you are doing more than one at one time, well done!

I study Shi Sei Kan Karate Do, attending classes 3-4 times a week. My younger brother attends 5 times, and undertakes special extra training for tournament fighting (he plans to take the state Kyokushin title next year). While he specialises in full-contact fighting, I have specialised in defence and sabaki techniques. I still cannot catch Kanchou with my sabaki, but I am now experienced enough to break from his 9/10 times; I bet I could beat him at Igo any day ;)
I have long wanted to take up Iaido (Kanchou has too, but that's another story), but it a 4 hours train trip to the nearest dojo, and it would clash with my karate.

bye bro!
