People create gangs for protection. The reason there can't be Geek Gangs is because geeks can't protect themselves physically.
yeah i believe that is a good piont from pink sakura...geeks tend to be weaker and less bulked up than guys who tend to go to the gym to get buff. geeks tend to study more and to ace the exams but are weak physically. so basically their reports would be A*A*A*A*A*A*C-A*A*A*A*. C would be for PE - physical education.

HAHA! geek gangs would certaintly be interesting but i don't think in reality they would work... partly b/c of the resounding past of what a "geek" is, so it would probably be a chore to overcome the fact that they could even be a "gang".
and yes, the major problem with a geek gang is that there NEEDS to be a way to protect oneself physically, whether it be inventions and elixers that allow them to escape unscathed (like a smoke bomb.. or a punching fist in their belt buckle..)) then it's probably doubtful... but to establish themselves, they would have to prove their superiority thru physicality...
once that is established to a point.. then freezing accounts, taking away minutes on the cell, getting the teacher to administer popquizzes everyday, etc then geeks really could do a lot... i mean, knowing all the knowledge really can help a lot ;P BBBBBUUUUUTTTT i doubt it would ever come to be realized.. Geek Gangs that would try to gain "territory" would be pummeled beyond recognition. A geeks forte is not found in physical strength, but strength of mind.

Well, our school already has somewhat the same thing. We have a geek club. The geek club is an underground, non-school-supported club. We have a monthly meeting, and try to better ourselves and help better each other. People like the class officers, student tutors, Dean's List students, ect, are in the Geek Club. I'm in it myself. Out of a school of 250, about 30 are in the Geek Club. It might sound funny, or laughable, and was origianlly intended as such, but it's really grown into something fun and helpful.
Can you pimp out a pocket protector? Put bling on your PDA? What's your cell phone ring if you're in a geek gang?
A gang is nothing more than a group of friends that hang out......the "gangs" most people talk about refer to "gangsters".....who are a group of.delinquents ....so geek gangs do exist....they just dont get noticed because they dont cause as much noise as other groups of people....

My old high school there was a geek gang of sorts. Of course they were just a joke of the high school because they had no power and influence. They just got picked on and beat up more for it. I would think muscle would over power the fear of technology stuff. Though technology can screw you over muscle can hurt and leave lasting mental scars.
It depends on how smart and how powerful each geek or thug is. There are geek gangs, they just do geeky stuff like.
VIdeo games, and chess and stuff that i do but they maybe weird and or just normal. And geeks cant control anything there just people like us. Its like refering to the president, is he a geek.

Geeks might band together, but they rarely go out against others if they would cooperate with one another, why? they don't see a reason to attack another group, for one, fighting is not exactly their field(for most), and two...i think they would rather go to a friend's house and play games all day than go out and shoot the crud out of other 'gangsters" ....
but for one, if there's a street gang fro geeks, that would be ...interesting XD

Hahahaha or the Local Anime Screening Club. But it's more like a gathering of like minded individuals for the sole purpose of watching and discussing those extra-curricular pursuits that are deemed of the 'geeky' nature. I don't know if I would call it a 'gang' exactly but I wouldn't want to mess with any of them unless you wanted your ear theoretically chewed off by the unstoppable arguments of an infuriated nerd. Hahaha no thank you I have been on the recieving line of that and it's not pretty.
I think if a 'geek gang' was to exist it would be more like the mafia. The 'geeks' would be at the top of the pyramid of power and they would be the people who freeze bank accounts, hack into peoples private investments and plot the kidnapping of family pets. While the hired thugs would maintain the territory with a mighty force. It would be muscle hired by brains. I think it would be a force to be reckoned with...but that??s just me.

Mostly because I think most geeks realize they are geeks, and prefer to hang out among their geek friends rather than be proud of their geekness. Also, geeks tend to be beaten up a lot, so why would anyone (in high school anyways) show off being a geek? Also, geeks do not really care about being seen, but rather their own agendas, whether it is updating their computers, buying the latest games, or watching the latest animes! Hahaha, anime geek joke. =)
