Ok, lately I'm in a bind as to how I'm going to reorganize my music folder.
Right now, it looks something like this...
C:
-----Music
--------Chinese
--------Eighties
--------Japanese
--------Korean
--------Misc
--------Pop
--------Rock
--------Rap
--------Rock
--------Vietnamese
Well, the problem is that my Japanese folder is over 6 GB and everytime I open it up, it takes a while for it to load so I'm wondering how should I organize things?
Should I do something like this?
--Anime
--Japanese
Or something like this...
--Japanese
------Albums
Any suggestions?

I have hardly any anime music. So in my JPop folder I sort by artist then actual releases. I find that works quite well, I guess it's similar to how I'd do a real CD collection too.
Do you put your foldder view in detail mode? I usually put mine in list mode so it loads quite fast. So I don't need too many folders. My music folder is around 3 gigs.

I've got a pretty fast hardrive so it doesn't really matter for me. I've set mine on detail mode and a hierarchyof:

Well, i have 2 folers: Orient & Ocident, this way is more easy for me cause my hd is note big(12gb) and i dont have anime ost, only j-rock, animesong & some j-pop
Currently what I use is:
--Anime & JPop
--Instrumental
--Miscellaneous
Mine is set on detail mode as well and it loads pretty fast for me eventhough my Anime &JPop folder is about 5 gigs. I'm not keen on sorting the files by album since that would mean more and more folders. Confusing... :faint:

I have mine set up like this

.../anime/jpop
...other stuff.mp3
I don't usually listen to anime music and other music at the same time so I guess it works.

Try Itunes if you want your directories restructured automagically, still winamp owns it.

Oh, something else that just occurred to me. Maybe you should create a new partition on your hard drive for your MP3s?
