What is your way to save more money wisely?
I try to put something in my savings account every paycheck and more on a regular basis if I can. I have my checking and savings linked so in case of emergency I can use what is in my savings rather than running up a credit card. This way I not only save a lot in interest but have a nice cushion.

Gain some self control and don't by things that are not essential in your daily life. Sigh, I don't really save money seeing as I can pretty much go out everyday and spend as much as I want, so I guess you shouldn't be taking my advice. At one point I was spending over 400 dollars a day on Anime dvd's and manga.
ahahah like me!!oh my oh my!ahahaha

When I get money, I usually just take what I need and then deposit the rest in my bank account. Then, when I go out, I just leave my ATM at home so I wouldn't be tempted to withdraw any of my funds.
Anyways, nowadays, I'm a bit addicted to shopping for clothes so I really have to control myself. Usually, when I really like something, I ask my brother or someone I know of their opinion. And when they say yes, I should buy it, I usually wait a while and make sure I *really* need or want it before buying it. I used to be an impulse buyer but with this way of asking people their suggestions about the items first, I save a lot of money since I later realize that some of the items I was itching to buy were just a "phase" because they were available. They weren't really necessities.
So. That's my tip. Save it in your bank account and forget you ever had the ATM for it. And when shopping, ask people first. Sit on it to make sure you really want it. And if you think you really want it, that's the time to buy.

I can't save up >_<
As soon as I have enough for something I want I go and get it.
But I don't have a job at the moment so I suppose I will try to save a bit more when I do start earning some worthwhile amounts of money.

Bring a bento to school! it will save money as you don't need to buy any food at school and it safe... at least if you have food poisoning you know where you get it!
don't buy things during any season except during the holidays(that is when heaven feels so near... in other words SALE!) it can cut down expenses when you buy things. for example, i buy a gundam kit cost me 20 dollars, after 10% discount, i get around 16 dollars. you saved 4 dollars! sounds a little but if you stick to this, you saved most of your money. Patience is needed... put your money inside the bank. always save your money inside the bank. as for me i save my money in the bank and i dare no to touch my money inside the bank... do business. with 1 dollar you can make 5 dollar, for example. if you have talent in crafting, art and etc why don't make money with it? use cheep hand phone. like me i use a cheep hand phone(i love to throw it anywhere and it still ok XD) i just use my hand phone to massage people and call people only. use prepaid type so that you know how much money left.(i have lots of money left and i'm so stingy to use it for myself). well thats my short, really short tips! hope you get rich!

This really help a lot on saving money to those useless things I want to buy.

Even though I am terrible at saving money (when I have cash, I spend it on something that will satisfy me for the short run; I'm that type of a consumer), I do have some good advice that may be useful for some people here on AP.
1. Think about what you will use the money for. If you have no clue what you want to use your hard-earned cash, or have no plans to use it today, place it in your ATM card, or savings.
2. Think several times to yourself, "Is this the one I really want?" If you start to have second thought when you are about to purchase something, put what you are about to purchase, and spend some moments debating in your head what the right decision will be.
3. If you are a consumer for long-term satisfaction, save early, and often. Those dollars and cents will add up, and you can have it mature over a large stretch of years, allowing for a nice 401/k, paying your kids for college, paying the bills, retiring independently, and so on.
I hope this advice will prove useful for a lot of people here.

I found that buying lunch all the time or even just when you work takes a pretty big piece out in the long run. I used to spend 20 a week (about 5 a day cuz i only work 4 days a week) on food but then it went to 30 and 40 depending or even more if i go out on the weekend... and this is just on food btw. so yeah in just a month, a minimum of 80 bucks went to my tummy.
blah i'm just rambling on now. anywho, the point is to bring your lunch whenever you can cuz it adds up. yeah, since i started bringing my lunch to work, i saw a big difference in my bank account which ultimately leads to one thing... more money to spend on anime related goods!

Well, from my POV, saving money is soo hard
Whenever I receive money, especially a huge amount, it will be spent immediately, especially if there's something I want (usually anime-related) -_-; There are times when I successfully control myself and save but when the time comes, something will happen that'll make me spend most of it, like projects and portfolios, or my parents will borrow it and usually, it doesn't return to me T_T
Anyways, I found out that if I only bring the right amount of money with me, and by budgeting and having a friend that'll stop me whenever I want to spend my money, I can save my money >_n;

ciao

I save money by leaving half of my weekly allowance at home and place it in my piggy bank (I'm still using it...would you believe). Since I've put in already in my pigggy bank, I'll never take it out again. Usually I buy those piggy banks that are expensive or are really such a waste breaking them. It's also a good thing if all your saving are coins. They are less easy to waste and you would really bother bring so many coins in our purse. If I know that the piggy bank is all ready full, I put my savings in a bank.
I'm not thrifty, I just don't really spend my money too much, I save by having about 70% of my paycheck go into a seperate bank account than the one I regularly use, it's helped me save a couple gand in under a month. I'm sure this method would vary or not work at all for people earning less money than I do. I also save all my change in a money box, it's surprising how much those things can hold.
One thing i do to save some money, because i am such a heavy spender, i hide $20's and $10's in my notebooks and in clothes and i forget there hidden there and eventually and one day when I'm broke i find money saved!

bye bro!
