How often do you take the public transport to somewhere that you want to go?
If I am not going anywhere too far from my uni or home, then I usually drive. However, if I were to go to the city, I usually take the light rail transit (sort of like subway trains, just only on the surface and not underground). I don't like taking the taxi as the price that they charge are kind of steep and buses are packed like sardines. Another reason why I don't take buses and taxis to the city is due to the traffic. If there's no other choice, then I'll take the bus which costs only a few cents.
Plus, taxis and buses ain't really safe at night. Go on a taxi on a wrong day and you get robbed or raped if you are a female. Such cases have happened before.

I'll take the train when I have to go down into the city (mainly because driving and parking down there is a nightmare), but most of the time it's easier just to get in my car and drive myself where I need to go. I've never been a fan of taxis, just too expensive for short trips.

I usually walk to everywhere.. Which isn't a lot of places because I don't have anywhere to go, so that wouldn't really count now would it?
I really haven't taken an public transportation but this coming September, I don't really have a choice but to use the bus to get to school. Although it is an express bus that will take me to a different university directly and getting to the pick up location is about the same walking distance as to my current school or university..

I use the train and occasionally the bus but I really hate busses, they're filthy and smelly and never on time, they're overpriced too. At least most of the trains are clean that I get on.

If the public transportation were better in my city I would definitely use it, but because it sucks I rarely ever do. I almost always drive, for the sake of time and convenience. I don't think we have a big enough public transit system for my city, and frankly I wish they would instead of just making the freeways bigger <!--emo&-_---><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sleep.gif' /><!--endemo-->.

I walk. In the city it's usually BART or a taxi. Ain't no way I'm getting on buses.

There are only buses around here and those are just the university buses running around from time to time. I barely use the bus.
And where I live... Public transportation does not run there. If you want to go somewhere, you drive.
I'd take either the bus or subway I guess. Taxis are too expensive.
Public transportation is practical in the city, such as HK and cities in Japan. Gotta love the subway.

Same as Dias...light rail transit maybe will be a good option for me too when choosing between buses and taxies. But sometime while riding on those subway train you might also encountered sardines packing in it. I experienced it one time when it was festive season and everyone seems to go for the light rail transit and I was so dumb to be packed like a fresh nice sardines. But for me taxies and buses would be a last choice for me since taxi are charging high and some of the buses too looks very dirty.

Last night I had a dream that I paid a taxi driver $200 to take me a few miles. I mean... I don't even <i>use</i> dollars...
Then when I got there I had to just come back again...
And there was a notable lack of foxy European arch-villains...
Now that I come to think of it, it didn't <i>nearly</i> match up to my usual dream calibre.

Well, admitedly, I never took public transit in the states. Not even for going to school. But currently, it's the only thing I use. And I hate it. Too crowded on buses generally. And buses are so bad, they turn off when going downhill. Not once, but 8 times. Sure, it's the same bus, but you'd think they would have cycled it out by now...

I use the super-duper stinky smelly bus. all the time. every day.and it's not that expensive actually,so...

The public rail transit here is run by 4 different companies. Bleh...I always have to like plan which station to get off and also which other train to take.

I commute riding jeepney! if the place is far, i use train or bus. But every sunday, i do ride a Taxi to church.
But going to work, I just walk. Everything is near around chinatown XD
