Soda-Pop Memories

I'd type a simple bio for it. But I'll paste the specifics from MT since I'm lazy.
This has been done for about a week.
The drawings background/story: Recently a good friend and myself have parted ways, and are not longer "friends". Many feelings, thoughts and differences exploded, and nether of us ever had a chance. The occurrence of this particular situation birthed the idea of this drawing. I decided to let it all go, and move on. But still felt some differences on the whole situation. I drew this picture to vent out all the "left overs" but more then that, to for fill a promise I had made many years ago, but never conceived the power or thought for it until now.
Details and Symbolism
-Why a stool? Because only one person can sit on it.
-The bottles represent memories.
-The bottles in the back represent "then", and the bottles in the front represent "now". As you can see, not many memories happen now then they did then. And they wont anymore.
-I think the bottles being fully shaded "then" demonstrate them being "full" or "true". And the bottles as they become closer are half shaded or "half full" represent memories that could have been better.
-Why do I have a shadow? Because it shows that in the end of it all, all I had left and kept was "myself" It could also show that everyone has an ugly "dark" side that maybe no one likes about you and will never tell you. Maybe that not even you know about. And that when its all over and done with, damage included you realize it or you don't.
-The bottles have full shadows because it shows they "could" have been full.
-Only one bottle remains under my chair because its the one I chose to keep. And that one I will not say.
Other information:
I used the usual 0.5 mechanical pencil on this one. Blending tortillions (sticks), and that's all. I wanted to try a different style with body shape and also shading, which a good example would be her shirt and legs. I sketched some lines close together and outlined around them. I've also never once drawn hands in that position, so if they are a bit iffy I'm sorry for that. I think they came out alright though. Overall enjoy to everyone.

Terribly sorry to hear 'bout you and your friend.
Onto your workpiece. The idea you're trying to present is great. But then again there're some things that you might/could have taken note. The soda bottles, though they're decently done, a little more detail to make their shapes almost identical wouldn't really hurt. :) Not unless you did it in a hurry. :O 'sides those, the shirt could use a little work as well, the shading's great, but the shirt itself, it has a weird shape around the edges to it(nearest to the waist), but I can't really put a finger on it. Moving upwards, the face looks alright, but it lacks expression, or maybe I couldn't make out the expression on the character. And just a question, did you miss out an eye or did you left it as it is? The hair looks kinda messy but I guess you might've known about that.
But all in all, I love the idea. So keep up the good work and keep practicing too. :D

I like this. It's very personal, and more than just a pretty picture. The symbols are very personal to you, and might not be picked up on by other people, but that's all right, because this seems like more of a personal thing for you. I'm sorry you and your friend have parted ways. I sometimes think the parting of friends and family is the one thing that is inevitable. I've said goodbye to many friends, and worse, I've said goodbye to family. Best friends who no longer share similar beliefs and values that I do. My mother passed when I was young, and my brother is missing, presumed dead. I have trouble expressing those things in art, but you've done a fine job here and I feel this is a success because of that.
Waii~ all the ramune bottles seems to cute X3 so, i don't really wanna comment on them.
uhh, the proportion for the abdoment for the girl seems a little off and the neck is a little long. that's all.
The shading were very well done, though and i really enjoy looking at it. it makes me think how terrible my shading is T-T

During the drawings process, I wasnt really going for perfection but more of a visual style that demonstrated how I felt about the whole situaton. I meant to leave only one eye becuase to me, it looked better then to have two, because the one presented gives off a 'lost in thought' expression. Or maybe a 'so this is how it is..'
thanks for your input too.

Well you are right that it is personal and more then just what you see. I didnt really worry about if people would understand or pick up on anything or take it for what it was. Just posting my work >>;; But on to your reasoning. Inevitable can sometimes be avoided upon agreeing with eachother, but in my situation there were just too many secrets. I too have said goodbye or parted ways with many friends, and as for family lol, they have parted ways themselves. This is actually my first time expressing memories or emotions for a specific purpose. I thank you for your comment very much.
Sorry to hear about your brother. u_u

These days I dont really draw the body, then put clothes over it. I just..draw it lol. I used to use the body as a reference of where clothes should fold or overlap. I wasnt going for perfection I guess >>;; The next I think attributes to her body, because I've never tried to draw a body shape in this style. And as for shading, I used to never shade, but Blending Tortillions are really helpfull. :o look them up sometime. ^^ Thanks so much for your comment as well

I love it! Reminds me of bleach!
I like the bottles but I don't like the face and body of the girl...
The shadows are very good... but I don't like the shadow of the girl...
I don't like she's legs o_o...
