This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

It's pretty good, nearly the same thing as the Japanese version - only in English. And they brought the dvd back, which is a nice perk. The only thing I really don't like about it is the price. Nearly $13 for a single issue? The yearly subscription price isn't too bad though.

I would buy it this month: It features AMG on the cover <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It is pretty decent.. I've only bought a couple issues becasue I wanted some scans out of them. I could care less about the articles. PIcking up outdated issues on the clearance rack is the way to go if you want images. only $5-$8...

Well, I got it especially because of the Belldandy on the front cover.. <!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> Theres a sample dvd and a poster of ghost in the shell (but why not Ah My Goddess though? <!--emo&:(--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

It is almost the same with the Japan version. Just that the USA version will post the same news which Japan version did a few months back. But it is still worth to read it especially the scans and the sample dvd <!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Though they're getting even better about the delay, because I recall seeing a Gankutsuou article in the Newtype USA that ran in the Newtype Japan issue for the same month. So they're more in sync with the new stuff than when they started.

My favorite section is the Angel | Dust ... <!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->yeah... $13 is too much,...but I always aim for the outdated editions (later about a month or two) because you can get quite a discount... <!--emo&:D--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Like nat mentioned they have been keeping up with the newer stuff in recent issues, regardless the artwork alone is enough for me to pick it up.

Psst....get Megami. Lots of nice scans. And better paper quality. The only downside is that it is in Japanese.

I like it, but I'll only buy it once in a while. I'm broke a lot of the time and when I actually get spending money I usually buy a manga or a DVD that I want. I sometimes buy Newtype for the articles, but it's mostly for the pictures. I like to hack up magazines I buy and stick whatever crap I think looks interesting on my wall. That way the magazine goes to some use...otherwise I read it once and it sits somewhere collecting dust.
