Artist-Wannabe!
I'm going to embarassed myself a bit today and show you some drawings I've made a couple of months ago. Don't laugh, please! I don't draw often (which is very unfortunate since I can't improve my skills). Sorry that they are kind of small, but they come from my portfolio site and I doubt I saved a bigger version of it when I scanned it. Although, if you sincerely want to see a larger version, I can always re-scan the image and show you.
Without further or do, here's Fire Mistress' doodles! :D
Gundam Seed
FFVi Moomba
Nightwalker

I really admire someone who can draw a picture of a character...or anything for that matter just by memory. Julie Dillon is another artist that I truly respect. Silly to say, but she is like an idol to me :D
P.S...Cheater, you edited the post! :p

:You see, I draw what I see. the fanarts there that I've drawn, I've drawn them from other images or by pausing my PS2, :D

Drawing what you see is not a bad way to start. It gets you more familiar with artist styles and can develop you are attention to details, however, it will only develop your skills so far. There are many basic drawing techniques you can use for drawing cartoon/anime characters that'll help you draw your own characters in whatever poses you like.
I first started out like you, drawing from what I saw. I eventually developed my art skills enough to get into a good classical animation program at a school in Canada and have since REALLy gotten better.
Most 'How to Draw Manga' books cover some of the basic techniques artists should use (it's the same for animators). For instance, instead of just drawing what you see, look past it, break the character down into basic shapes (a sherical shape for the skull with crosshairs to determine the direction it's facing then adding the corresponding jaw, the body can be broken down into sherical and cylindral shapes), once you're done sketching out the rough pose to satisfaction with a good sense of proportion, then you start adding details on top of it.
Maybe if I can scrap together some free time I could put together a rough tutorial (that and get some webspace to upload the stuff). I right now working on a Naruto fanart for a competition with what free time I have (been pretty busy working just to cover my basic living expenses, can't wait for september when school starts up again, so that I can live off of student loans for the rest of the year and focus on my animation work).

 Live out of student loans...that's a nice way to put it :D
And when you're finished with the tutorial, please let me know :D
i love to tell him how amazing he is on the phone cause he gets all quiet and goes "stop it"
and HE KNOWS it's true!
or at least he will when I'M through with him xD
anyways, yeah, drawing from what you see is never a bad thing. i think i went through that phase for a month or so.
taking figure drawing classes would help the most. gesture drawings are good practice for getting the characters to seem alive. i love gesture drawings to death, because they're just so fast, and yet so full of life.
lemme think what else xD
ummmmmmmmmmm
i dunno. i've been too lazy to draw lately, so giving some advice won't help.
but i'll be drawing again when i get back to school and start getting my ass kicked by some of the greatest artists in the country xD
^_^
lol...
