I call this the giguar. I spelled it wrong on purpose just to make it sound cooler.
This was the first one I did. Turned out pretty well I guess.

unfortunatly these stories are taken like heroic age with transforming into a mecha sized being, ps3's white knight story with kid also transforming into a mecha sized 'knight'
but urs are like "legendary myth like creatures" so yeh... awesome concept.. should expand on this hahaahha
but yeh, im no fan of demon stuff but these dont seem very demonic.. their usually very death related but these bare closer to like FF summons so yeh..

I made these for a story/comic I was creating. The concepts were made from scratch.
This one, i had based it off a locust and a mantis while throwing some bones into the design.
Stereotypical big guy.
Made on short notice.
But each correspond to a member of the zodiac.
The first one is Aries.
The second is Cancer.
The third is Pisces.
The fourth is Libra.
The Fifth is Virgo.
The sixth is Scorpio.
The seventh is Taurus.
The Eighth is Sagittarius.

The trick to designing good monsters lies within the perception. For example, dragons are a popular basis for a monster of course they are the easiest to draw since they are so abundant. The best way to draw monsters is to borrow templates and work on them from scratch. You don't mimic them, you just get what you need and then go. For example, I came up with Libra with the basis for Anubis. In the same way, I came up with Sagittarius from the basis of Shemhazai, the Esper that occupies the same space. The key is in the template.
And with practice and a small ounce of talent, anyone can draw like me. They just need to have a good eye and dexterous hands.
