^nat
After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

What grade did you get that made your parents almost kill you? or made them ground you for life? and WHY did you get that grade? did you argue with your parents or just listened to them yelling at you and just accepted the consequences?

let me start it off,

my sister(as for me i got a one B) got 3 B's and my parents think that B's are F's! they won't let my sis use the computer every weekdays, but she sneaks out anyway, sometimes, since the computer is in our room and she got it because she wasn't studying before a test but she still getting good grades! and yet it turned out to be a B still. and she DID argue with them but then she just told them that as soon as we get our card again and she got straight A's again, everyday computer would be on her (and mine) list of things to do again...

Hm..my parents were pretty cool with me about grades..they always just told me to try my best which is great but at the same time...i think i cud've done better if they were stricter?...actually i dont think it wud've made a difference...i wasn't really motivated enough to study every day and such...i was the average 80% student...nothing more..and nothing really wow

i went to a private all girls school...so everyone was pretty much average or your a genius. my school is academically and athletically competitive..(we only had 90ish people on our grade and probably less than 30 people didnt get 80%+ in their final senior grades). . being surrounded with so many talented people...could either make you feel really stupid..or make you motivated to try to keep up with them. i know some of my high school classmates had great families...and they were actually self-motivated to study...my friend at the moment regretted how she spent her whole high school life studying instead of enjoying the whole high school experience ...she wanted to get really high marks to get into a good universiety. also when you hit university...ur As turn into Bs or even C+s ...my friend now feels like she's in the wrong faculty even though she did very well during high school with sciences

I also have a few other classmates whose parents were waaay out of control..her parents were very strict..not only with academics but with the WAY she dressed...they purposely dressed her up in baggier/bigger clothes..it was ridiculous...

i understand parents want their children to get the As and whatnot...they care.. my mom always said what you learn is for urself...so take advantage of the knowledge and use it to the best that you can...

Omg, must got A thats to strict indeed.
well, my parents surely strict when im elementry until junior high school. they satisfy if i got B's but not C (i got warning, yelled or got punisment like you chikashi) or D (worse punisment), if below D (you know this one, surely dead meat).

they praise me even got B, ofcourse that makes me happy and thats cue for me to try my best for A so my parents'll be happy then i got straight A. they surely more happy and praise me than got B.
got C? yeah, i argue cuz usually i got C for class that i dont like(history, society, enlglish, etc), depend on my excuses sometimes got warning, yelled or accept consequences and yeah, i sneak out to use computer (everyone will sneak out anyway so thats natural). i got D 3 times, i accept all yell and consequences cuz thats my fault (but i still sneak out to use comp. noone can resist to sneak out >_<). they usually less strict when we reach high school and college.

we know that our parents want to ensure us got all knowledge for our future, being strict is ok cuz thats for our sake in future but sometimes they dont know that we got our own capacity and limit to accept all we studied but still forced to got straight A without praise or respect (but got consequences) even we got B or C, i think thats too much. i think this what you got in your mind too.

i myself average student and the dumbest from my sis and bro but thats makes me myself, i dont regret it and my parents know that too, they dont mind cuz thats my capability.

i think you should talk it in polite, slow and nice choice of word to your parents. hopefuly they'll less strict.

thats all. ack, i wrote too much <_<

Well i guess my parents are pretty cool with my grades but they always pull this move
where it sorta makes me feel bad for doin bad like how even if i get a C in a course they
say i tried my best and i should try to do better, which sorta makes me feel bad taht i'm
disappointing them, and i kno i coulda done better sorta thing? but overall they're already
happy that i get B's and tell me to aim for A's like usual...though it's sorta weird to grade
a arts school since that doesn't really work...but overall B's are good and A's are great since
my capibility is just that high...(yes i'm stupid)

They nearly kill me for Fs.
Once I got 5 A's, 1 B, and 1 D; my parent are scolding me for that "D" and didn't say anything about the 5 A's as if they did not exist at all

^^; well, ofcourse no excuse for Fs. thats reminds me when im elementry i got only 1 F the rst of it Bs and 2 Cs, my mom stare me, go into her room then she bring this rattan stick, dunno where its come from maybe my mom already prepared it just incase (when i see her face its like i can see my mom's dark side) you know what happens next

SPOILER (click to view)

of course i got some bruises on my skin. we dont talk eachother for 1 day. but the otherday my mom feel sorry, she crying, apologize for what she done to me and treat my bruise then tell me nicely not to got F anymore.
*Sob* now thats reminds me of old days my mom kindness, anger and i regret for that F. After that, i never got F only D 3 times, sure got scolded too even there's A and B.

Well from my country we don't use letters nor 1-6 or etc. we use the standard % thing(75% is the failing mark while 99.99% is the highest grade a person can get in the card oh yeah and the lowest grade... in the card is 70%) humm... well for my parents they would scold me big time when i get these grades

filipino(our language which is a subject)- 90%
english- 95%
algebra- 92%
calculus- 92%
music- 97%
world history- 90%
values- 98%
art- 84%
physics- 90%
biology- 92%
sports- 98%
computer- 96%
economy- 94%

and one time i got these grades in my card...

filipino(our language which is a subject)- 95%
english- 99.5%
algebra- 95%
calculus- 89.54% <-- take note of this!
music- 99.99%
world history- 93%
values- 98.04%
art- 99.56%
physics- 94.63%
biology- 92.54%
sports- 98.67%
computer- 99.99%
economy-96%

and you know what my parents were crazy when they found out my calculus grade! shezz! why not try looking at the other grades! it's bad enought that my class is filled with guys 2 yrs older than me! shezz! they should at least be thankfull that i accelerated! and you guys know what my punishment was... my allowance for 4 months! was cut! for months! and another thing! they suspended me from the computer and the TV!

This was a problem for me when I was younger, if I got anything under ninety percent my parents would go berserk - this was ridiculous of course, but they were stuck on their old school asian generation traditions and who's to blame them? In China academics > everything else, because lots of them never had the chance to go to university when they were younger and seeing us waste our opportunities probably pains them. Regardless, an over 90% average or die philosophy is unrealistic in this day and age, and luckily my parents have snapped out of it. Why did I get under 90% sometimes? Uhh because I have a life I guess lol~

Never, I am spoilt and too good.
lucky too
above 60 no problems
below 60 is a question, why?
I said:" simply because I haven't been working too hard"
they say:" OK, work harder"
I said:" OK"
and other than that, almost everytime I have for English is 98 to100.
and maths...well 50 usually.
I got 80s for languages of Malay, Chinese.
Georgraphy is 70
Advanced Maths - Fail with 5/100 (compassion mark for even writing down my name and copy paste)
History 80-90
I think that sums it up

When i was in the institute, i always have had puntuations of 8-9,5 in the asignatures i liked. In the asignature of Latin and History of Art i had 10. Ah, in the asignature of technical drawing the same, in all the exams the note of 10. My weak point were the asignatures like philosophy and literature, i remember have had a 5 hahaha :D. I'm a science guy :)

My parents are more worried to marry me hahaha, i'm always working at home with the computer. In my country is heavy difficult now to get the individual indepence. The flats are vere expensive and one of 90 m2 means to be paying for all the life (the salaries are not very good also)

Omg my parents freak out when I get a B >_> I'm supposed to get all A's since I'm Asian and supposed to be "smart". I hate the pressure. When I got a C on a math test, my parents kept bombarding me with questions like "Why did you get a C?!" and "You dont study hard enough!" Math is hard and I'm not always going to be perfect ><

I'm in college, and my parents are slightly insane about my grades. They've said to me, "you're in COLLEGE! How did you possibly get a B??" At which point I answered: "um..probably because I'm an Electrical Engineering major in college and the classes aren't exactly a cat walk" My parents have this idea that anything less than a 4.0 will make it impossible for me to get into grad school. I got a couple B's total after about two semesters of college, and yeah..it wasn't exactly pretty. Last semester I got straight A's and suddenly it's like they love me again >_>.. Needless to say, during the semester I get extremely stressed out. Whenever I try and tell them that a 3.8(my current CPA) is actually quite good, my dad tells me that he got a 4.0 in grad school. Personally I don't know how to make him understand that in Grad school, C's are failing and almost everyone makes A's. >_< In anycase, the most mad my parents have ever been with my grades was probably over my first semester of college grades. Apparently all A's and one B is totally unacceptable. ^^;;
