I remember the days when 1024 x 768 used to be the common all around used resolution. Now there are a whole ton of resolutions out there. Anyone got any clue as to what people normally use?
I prefer 1280x1024, but I'm thinking of changing to 1600x1200

I like 800x600 to be honest. Am I oldschool?? haha I just like how big and upclose everything is that way, thats why. I've tried to like the bigger resolutions its just hard to see.
"little" old-school as well: 1024x768
Im willing to upgrade to the 1200s but it really depends on what the icons and stuff will look like...

1440 x 900
Its the native for a 19 Inch Widescreen, kind of odd, but it works...now if all games would be Widescreen native these days...

1024x768 on a very old LCD screen I got about 3 years ago...it works on 1280x1024 but everything's just too small. My 14.1" laptop uses 1600x1200

I have 1024 x 768 on my laptop, but it is to small for me :p When i earn some money i will buy desktop pc with 24 or 26 inch LCD with at least 1920 x 1200 px.
I use 1680x1050, It is the native resolution on my 22" widescreen.
My laptop's native resoultion is 1280x800. I have to say though I think the "standard resoltuion" nowadays is probably 1280x1024. I say this cause alot sites that offer official wallpapers like for video games or movies and anime usaully have 1280x1024 as there highest resoltuon available, heck alot of sites only offer that an 1024x768.
I have a 22" widescreen, so I use 1680x1050 which is as high as it will let me go.

My LCDs native resolution is 1680x1050 and I think it's great but I would prefer it running at 1920x1200.
If you do a survey though, the majority of people using computers will still be using 1024x768. Monitors last a long long time, especially CRTs and for most people they won't bother upgrading unless it's needed. The standard started to become 1280x1024 but now with widescreens being the cheaper and more readily available screens I think you'll find a lot of people with 1280x1024 and 1440x900 resolutions.
I much prefer the higher resolution screens as you get more definition in objects that appear on your screen, anti-aliasing combined with anisotropic filtering which is supported standard with all modern graphics cards is a wonderful thing. Have someone watch a movie in standard def 4:3 (640x480) and then show them the same movie in 1920x1080 and they will always choose the HD quality. There is far more detail and vibrancy in each frame. LCDs are also now catching up to CRTs in terms of ghosting problems without loss of quality.
End of 2008 I believe we should be seeing some new technology coming out, namely Laser TVs.
