Purpose of Life
Being that we all have our own belief and strong willed faith, I wonder how many people here view their own lives. As to what they do, and if they live thinking of a purpose.
I guess you all know that I'm Christian and obviously, my purpose in life is simply to follow God wherever he takes me to.
Reading books like "Purpose Driven Life" helps me determine the right steps but in the end, it is your own experience that gets you to learn what you'd really want to do with it.
hm.. I used to devote myself to simply art and anime, but now, things have been so different for me as I begin to find an identity for myself, a bigger purpose..

Life is not just about playing PS2, improving your Photoshop skills, surfing the net, watching anime and so on....
Everyone is born without a destiny, we have to decide our destiny ourselves. In that process, we learn different things.
In the end, some people live for money. Some live for the sake of pride and glory. Some, live for each others.
And..... some are lost. Lost people.... in other words, people that have no aim for life.
The reason you live is for you to decide...... You can have multiple purpose of life.
My first destiny is to save others, so their destinies can be achieved.
my second, to live my life to the fullest.
3rd, protect the ones i love, as well as thoes who loves me

I think there is no real purpose in that way i rather think it is that destiny gives you some ways and you can choose which one you take and than it's your own way you have to follow and you are able to leave this way and begin a new :)

Great purposes.
Well, my purpose of life is simple and the same as well: to live life to the fullest and bring joy and happiness to those around me.
There is a religion in fate... that is my belif as well... that there is some sort of guiding force that makes your life go a certain way. even when you think you are going against it you are going toward it, everything was meant to happen... even when you feel like your life is going down and you are being way too lazy waiting for something to happen so you start trying at life, that was meant to happen otherwise your fate would have ended a long time in the past.
Even though at the end of the meaning of the life it simply to die and move on. the things that happen inbetween is for yourself and others. It is what fate intends to be done, and in the end you will die and that is part of somone elses fate to feel the feeling of losing you, and that feeling will help their purpose to life, their fate. In the end supporting their meaning. Everyone sees the meaning differently in love, and emotions, but one thing stands the same, what comes with up is down, what comes with cause is effect, what happens with life, is always death.

yeah, in a christian aspect i have, and know my purpose. as everything is define in the book The Purpose-Driven Life, i just realized that the points stated there are what i need to do in life. well, it's not that i'm following the book. the book just defined what i have been doing so far... and mostly added something missing :)
but right now, my only purpose for living is to provide for my family financially. we're not from a well-to-do family and we sometimes face financial stress. we are a family of six. my dad is physically handicapped(he is blind due to a freak vehicular accident) so my mom does the "bread-winning". i just remember the time when i was in college where there are days that we don't eat much, sometimes even weeks. we last with just water, bread and champorado. we also have other financial problems like due bills, tuition and matriculation problems and the like. so when i got to work here now as a technical support, i enjoyed it because the pay is awesome. though we still face the stress, our faith and my job helped us a lot now. yeah, i guess my current purpose in life is to financially provide for the family.

My purpose in life is just to have fun.. Enjoy myself.. Cuz if I don't do that.. I'm probably bored.. Learning is important for me too cuz if I learn now.. I can have fun later...

you kinda gave me the idea to start this thread after mentioning Rick Warren's book for us, Christians. lol.
I just wonder how everyone else would see it and what their philosophy in life is. LoL.
My purpose in life is to help my family. That should keep me busy for a while.

well, you have to consider that not all are christians... or not all are theists so there :) but most likely, they have their personal reasons that's why. how i wish i can also be carefree :)

well, you have to consider that not all are christians... or not all are theists so there :) but most likely, they have their personal reasons that's why. how i wish i can also be carefree :)
