This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

I'd do it with a friend, if we had a theme. I wouldnt do it alone though.

No, its not weird at all. I think its quite admiring how much time they put into their costumes(er.. if they made one not bought). But please dress up as your own gender..

^Actually I think grls can pull off a anime guy characters pretty well because most of the anime guy characters are bishonen very pretty guys and some guys in America definately cannot pull that off well ^^;; well as for guy cosplaying as a grl characters usually that is for a pure fun hahahah ^^;;

I am a grl but I like to cosplay as a guy character much more dan grl because the costumes if you look at most of the characters and their costumes I like the guys better... i hate wearing skirts and such ^^;;

Cosplay is a kind enterainment 'coz all people have fun in the meetings and people who think that they are losers are a little idiot.
Are the happy drinker in bar are idiot or people in dancing ? Of course no...
that's all !!

It's one of the best way an anime fan can express their love and interest for an anime. It's a;so a way for them to be a character for a day.

Well I think that cosplay is awesome but not all people can dress up. Basically, it depends on the person whether or not he/she is willing to dress up in public. I've been to a convention once and enjoyed many people dressing up in their favorite characters. But then I saw some people who dressed a little overboard. What I mean is their costumes were tight and small their outfits didn't look good at all. But my point is it doesn't matter to me how you dress, as long as you enjoy dressing up ^^

I would love to do it sometime, but with a good costume, not a patch up thing, if I'm going to do it, I want to do it the right way

I love cosplay, especially when you make your own costume. Some cosplay outfits I've seen are amazing and I'd love to be able to make costumes like that.

I'm going to the London Expo cosplaying as Rukia, it'll be my first time cosplaying and I'm really looking forward to it.

Hey, I might see you there! I'm still making up my mind who to go as. I've never been to a proper convention before. I might just chicken out and use the Melissa Mao costume I did a while ago- I'd probably have to redo the transfer on the arm because the jacket got washed too hot. I think cosplay is brilliant fun and a great outlet for creativity! Sure you can get freaks doing it, but if a freak walks down the road one morning does that make you a freak for doing the same? It's fun. ^_^

You never quite get the whole concept until you do it the first time.

1) Don't half ass it, or not only will you hate it yourself, others will hate you too.

2) Start with a group, and start with something easy. My first cosplay was with my friends as a One Piece crew. My friend and his girlfriend did Zoro & Luffy (she was Luffy), and I did Sanji. Sanji's costume cost about $15 at any nearby thrift store. $4-5 for some blonde highlights, and a cigarette for effect. Eyeliner pen for curly eyebrows. huzzah. The key is to chose something in your range. I am 6'1. I will never in my life be able to cosplay Ed Elric. So I won't. Ever. Yet some people forget these rules... and oh the pain on my senses that insues. (Man-Faye is an exception, he is hilarious). In a group it's easier, your costumes look better as a set/theme, and you can get embarassed together, not alone. I cannot stress how much better costumes look in groups. Wander around as a half-ass Ed-elric, and people will just smirk as your shitty costume. Walk around with the 14 other people you convinced to complete the cast of the show, and you'll actually get some acknowledgment for such a good group effort. (At AWA, there was a nearly 60+ group of people who did (I am not joking) the ENTIRE cast of naruto. Anyone who was featured more than like twice/three times was there. They got hella props.)

3) Cosplay isn't for you if you're overly-shy/afraid of anyone hearing. People will hear. You just gotta explain it was fun, and not some bizzaro alternate life (that falls in with Furries).
