Presenty, the world is full of stereotypes. When people see someone for the first time they automatically refer to their race first. From there on they base their opinions of that person using the first impressions they have got from looking at them. Racism starts from this, i believe stereotypes promote racism such as Asians being smart, Blacks being good athletes, and so on. My question is how do we stop it?

Racism is the worse thing than the human being can do, a person does not have to judge to another one by his origin, single racism causes but wars and conflicts

It seems that Racism will never cease to exist. Another part of human nature. If we were to forget our past hatreds, then things would be better. Then again, that is hard to do. Considering that history repeats itself.

Racism comes from the "fear of the unknown" that all of us have a little. It's kind of an automatic survival reflex. We fear what we dont know. And when some people fear a thing, they can begin to hate it because they're afraid.

I dont think that one day racism will disappear from the Earth...because it will always exist in every society. Normally, the racists are closed to the outside world, they should try to be more open.

I don't think that we can stop it.
you can't fully control people through education... Even if you fill their heads in schools about being nice to everybody and not being racist, some people may have grudge on another race just because they had a bad experience with one single person... We are human beings and this kind of things happen often...
Even if you manage to have a "pure" society (between brackets that's a very broad and simplistic term), then humans will find the way to hate each others for other reasons... That's an infernal cycle.

Lol i make fun of my friends all the time for being "racist" not that they truly are but because they make certain races seem so typical of things...For instance, my friends and I went to a chinese take out place except you could eat in if that makes any sense... and we were sitting there and one of my friends pointed out that this particular chinese restaurant had no mirrors in it and so i was like... whats that supposed to mean and he was like "well uhhh" and i was like... yeahhh raciist... he simply believed that all chinese people must have a mirror in their establishment in order to be authentic which is dosent seem tooo horribly racist i dunno...funny to say the least i guess you had to be there... another thing i make fun of is when people ask me what color of something they want... One friend asked me ok do i want the black clock whith white stripes of the white clock with black stripes... and i was like... its up to you and she chose the white one with black stripes...and so i was like... oh so the black clock wasnt good enough for you huh had to be predominantly white huh...i see how it is... raciist... I think i poke fun at this because i know some people can take racism to extremes like that but i dunno ...overall i think racism is far less of a problem today than it has been in the past...yes racism still exists but it seems like a waning state of mind

Nope, never called anyone by a racist comment. Not even by a joke or just chilling around like so many black people seem to do with one another and it's arlight. ::shrugs:: Whatever. People have called me many things before, but I just care not to listen, and I'm a better person and my patience is extremely high. I don't get angry very easily at all. People have called me Spik and stuff before. Honostly, I really care less because it's just a word and words mean nothing to me. God forbid if some trouble did arise, I'd whoop some butt until next tuesday! Ho ho ho.

Anyway, people who resort to saying such things are just people who are not very well educated and are scared of the people they make fun of. That's what ridiculing is based off of. People only ridicule others because they feel as if the other person might be better than them so they have to bring them down somehow to make themselves feel better. It's quite sad really.

I'm gonna have to admit that I sometimes make racist comments. But of course I have no mean intentions when I'm saying them. I usually just say them for jokes. For example, I always comment on how filipinos are always late for things and then all my friends laugh cuz I'm exactly like that.

As for it ever being stopped completely, I think its never gonna happen. Thats like asking if we can get rid of all the evil in the world. Its just not possible. Like what people have pointed out in their comments, there will always be people out there who are just plain racist. The best we can do is lower it. This of course is a slow process, but none the less we've been making progress. A nice big example is the segregation that used to be in the US. Of course that is gone now, but some of the people who believed it was okay still exist.

Education is important, alas it's not sufficient... as I said before, personal experience can easily beat education... If you have a bad experience you may tend to generalize that to the rest of your environment... We often do that without noticing it.

Stereotyping is NOT racism. A stereotype is classing someone by some group they are associated with. Every "goth", or "smart kid" or "elderly person" gets stereotyped. It's human nature. It can't be "fixed". And it's not nessesarily bad either.

I'm not sure how referring to how a person is differnt really qualifies as racism either. If I was a guy in Korea and there was one caucasion guy who ran a store there I'd refer to him as "that white guy". Is that racist? I donno, does it change the fact that he's white if I am? I also refer to people as "that person with the crazy hair", "that black haird girl", and "that guy with the eye patch". It doesn't change anything referring to a person in a way simply because they're different, and I don't know why everyone is afraid to do so. Maybe if people could grow a backbone and embrace the differences then things would be different.

Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another, and that is something I certainly don't beleive. All people are different, and some are better than others but race isn't a factor in that. As far as overcomming racism, the best cure I've found is just exposure. I mean how can you be racist against a hispanic guy when you're friends with one ? When people are exposed to each other under good circumstances they can better accept those who are different.

I though the question was another...one can't stop being a racist . in the end each oersib is different, the same way a black dude goes on group to fight (just for example or whathever kind of people that does that)
some cowards white/any other race, would go to fight on group...
i guess i'm a racist, when i was a kid 11 years old i said on the car "that fucked black idiot" oh well...that was
funny but i guess it doesn't change nothing it just depend on who you meet while growing
but i'm more used to say that i hate it then all XD (even my own race) so it doesn't care much.
oh well i used to have friends of others race but...oh well they didn't need me anymore (thats a good way to say they didn't bother to call me anymore when i wasn't usefull for then)

Hmm...well the one thing i hate about racism is the fact that most people categorize white people to be racist, shit, any caucasian person here understands this. and if you don't you havent gone out much. Seriously just about a week ago at my highschool i got food from the cafeteria during lunch, and this really tall black guy who is sitting down is looking at me and said "Hello fellow white man!" and i just stood there for about 4 seconds and replied "Hello fellow not-so-white man!", and guess what? that day, i didin't get a chance to eat any food cause i kinda got chased by that black guy. So in the end IM the racist.

Also caucasians cant say nigger, while african americans call each other niggers and if we say nigger, we get called racist sh!theads. Yeah.

Personally im not a racist, im more of a stereotypist i guess. its not like if i see an asian person i go and say "hey! look an anime fan!". no its not like that, but rather i make some decisions based on an individual characters trait.

Like this one guy in my bio class, hes asian and looks smart, so i asked him for some answers on a group project that we did. He's like "i don't know" and i asked him how coume you look smart and you're asian why can't you figure it out?...yes im a stereotypist i realised it that day.

its not that i wanna be whan i am but if you think about it most people say that black people are prone to crime and that asians have small penises and are smart. Automatically people start making decisions based on those inaccurate facts. These facts are mostly bullsh!t but people with an inferiority complex belive in them. and sometimes, these bullsh!t facts become true.

Like in a TV show called mind of Mencia they had an episode called the stereotype olympics or somthing, and they did stereotype based competitions, like white people play hockey the best (true), Asians have small penises (proven true) Mexicans can jump over walls fast (true) Middleasteners throw rocks the best (proven false, turns out asians throw rocks better) black people love watermelons (proven false mexicans ate faster at a watermelon contest). That show just makes jokes about different races. and some stereotypes are proven false, but theese competitions where done by one individual from each race, so i guess it dousent really matter because its all based on personality so disregard that if you want.

But seriously out of all the races cacuasians are called racists the most.
