Addictions
I've been playing Fly For Fun (a really cool anime-ish online game) for just under a year now and I'm starting to feel that it's like an addiction. There's not one day that I don't log into my account >< My life can be stressful at times so its kind of an escape to reality and it really is a "stress-less" fantasy world. BUT escaping to that world has resulted in my grades undergoing a state of decline. Does anyone here feel that way too especially if its World of Warcraft/FlyFF or any other game? I know a couple of my friends from High School dropped out because of it. I didn't lucky for me i only started playing in University. There's a youtube series about it called The Guild.
Addictions are bad especially if you can't control yourself from it. I only thought they applied to people who gambled or smoke. Guess I was wrong. Do you guys have any weird or wacky addictions that need to be rid of? Lol I'm pretty sure there's addictions here and addictions there.. and addictions that .. pro..bably should be kept to yourselves :P. welp, discuss your addictions here it'll be interesting to see what comes up XD

Never was addicted to games, I lose interest as soon as I finish them or if they last too long like MMORPG's

I felt the same when i played world of warcraft... it felt like i had to go on even though sometimes i do nothing in the game. i quit the game now but im kinda addicted to call of duty 4 lol. i guess it is a good way to escape reality as long as it doesnt affect everyday life.
I'm still playing the game I used to play in middle school, but a lot, lot less. Sometimes I'd got for days without playing those games, and one day spend an hour or two online playing. It used to be different, I'd say I'm more prone to being addicted to games before than I am now. I used to play games non-stop, but now I seem to be able to control myself and play a bit here and there.
Other addictions...anime - if I have the time I'll watch, if I have other priorities I try to get them over with and then watch the animes.

I got addicted to online games to the extent that i wasn't able to get a good night's sleep thinking about what to do in the game. i also invited my friends to play. was that a bad thing? i mean i just showed them the overview of the game. is it my fault that they got even more addicted than me?
I was addicted then I quit. Its just not worth it. But.. I became an anime addicted..hellyeah?! ^^ :D

I used to obsessively play video games... two summers ago all I did was go to work, come home and play Counter Strike Source and Oblivion, then sleep and repeat. That stopped last summer when I started working more and getting ready for college.
Then I became addicted to anime and manga. :D Though I'm not quite as bad as I used to be back last fall... marathoning just doesn't appeal to me anymore, so I watch a couple of episodes each day now.
Always have been, and always will be addicted to reading. Can't get enough of those books. ;P

I got addicted to WOW, but my friends account expired and he hasn't renewed it, so I don't really play it anymore. I do love playing with my Nintendo DS though.

I'm hooked on WoW, i play everyday to make gold for my epic flyer which about 2 hours of my weekdays. I also raid once a week and don't play weekends. Is this an addiction? I do have trouble getting to sleep thinking about it and my GF would kill me if i told her i thought about wow more then her =O
Yes..im so addicted to racing cars' games..in arcade park, comuputer games..no matter in wat..i'll go into it..like Initial D Ver2,3 and 4 (arcade game)..i'll play for tat till bored..hehe..but its not easy for me to get bored coz i really love japanese cars..hehe..

Yeah, computer games are addictive. But it usually doesn't matter much if it's not distrupting your everyday life...
But if you find yourself spending too much time on a specific title, just stay away from it for a week or so, this won't be easy but you'll find yourself good to go after.

Addictions!
Smoking and drugs aren't the only things that can get you hooked. Video games, movies, and television shows can get you really addicted. I guess you could also say that you're addicted to someone when you're obsessed with them. You know, like when you're totally in love with them and they occupy every free moment of your life.
I wonder if there's a really effective way to stop something once you get really hooked onto it. I mean, it sounds really hard to stop playing a really addicting game. Those counseling sessions really don't seem like they work. You know, like those places where you go, "Hello, my name is _______, and I have a video game obsession."
The only real way to stop liking a game is....to stop liking it, I guess. I suppose you could think of all the cons to the game, like how the graphics are bad, or how the storyline isn't that good. Then stop playing it for awhile, so you won't remember how good it actually is. Maybe this'll work, maybe it won't. Best of luck (:

I love video games, but I don't think I have an addition to games. Sure I get mad every time a game gets pushed back, but I get over it pretty quickly. I keep the games that I like and I trade in games that I don't like.
I've never tried any MMOs for a long period of time, nor do I like them. So I think I am pretty safe from being addicted to games.
Though I do spend hundreds of dollars on games every month, but that's because I don't wait for them to get down in price.
