^nat
After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I hardly ever watch TV anymore, since it was replaced by my interest in web graphics and reading (not just manga, but novels as well). Hmm... I'm not sure as how to reply to this topic. But yes, a lot of TV nowadays revolves around the idols, singing, dancing, gameshows, and yes, "how to make your house beautiful *insert sparkles here*", all kinds of things that are similar. I'm speaking from a person who doesn't watch TV kind of perspective. First impressions of a TV program are important. They [usually] determine whether someone is willing to watch your program or not. For one, if you stick a scary-looking man in the first few seconds of your program, that's guaranteeing not a lot of people will enjoy your show. They will get frightened, and the first instinct is to turn off the TV or flip the channel. *sigh* It's all about publicity, it's never about meaning... *headdesk+blood*

I hate American cartoons, haha. They give me the impression that all people are short and have squarish or rectangular type faces. D: And that their faces can only look to the left or right. And, and, and... The list can go on. =__=

Despite all that, I enjoy watching shows about wildlife. :D

I can understand your pain. even though its hard for me to watch tv these days due to the fact i live w/ my grandparents and my grandfather hogs the tv.. oh well hes 79 yrs old he can do it... but when i do get to watch tv its hard to watch a program bc there are so many commercials now and all they are about is how to loose weight and how to improve sex for older couples whom have harder time getting things done. just to leave it as that ill b nice. not that i go against ne of those commercials they show good cause for those people... i could stand to lose weight too.
but this is not the only reason im disappointed in tv. its bc granted most of tv is violent, degrading, and out right stupid at times. but when i sit down to watch tv. i would like to watch something w/o the censorship. im an adult and if i want to watch something that is swearing and showing nudeness all up and down the screen i should b able to do so. now i understand that people are concerned bout children watching tv w/o censorship and so on. but if i have kids it is my responsibility to watch and understand what they are watching and chose when i believe that they would b old enough to watch the same things that i do. whom else can agree w/ that?

Yeah. I miss when TV used to be full of good shows, not to say there are not a few good shows here and there, but it doesn't compare to how it was when I was growing up. I grew up watching shows such as the ones from Hanna-Barbara (Jetsons, Flintstones, Scooby Doo), the Cartoon Cartoon shows (Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo), as well as the shows that was on Fox Kids and Kids WB (Tiny Toon Adventures, The Animaniacs, Histeria); now most cartoons are trying to use CGI and are ending up doing awful jobs at it or just have complete crap for ideas.

There are only a couple of shows that are on that I actually like when it comes to cartoons. Some of the shows that I have watched and enjoyed within the past year include Fairly Oddparents, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Spongebob; when it comes to more mature cartoons I like shows such as Family Guy, Futurama, and the occasional South Park.

There are only two live-action shows that I have any interest in at the moment and they are Prison Break and Dexter. I've been watching Prison Break since it first aired a few seasons ago and I've been a big fan ever since, of course season two made me lose interest for a while, but I (think I) finished it and started the third season which to my relief was much better. I was glad last week when season four started airing, good to have the show back. Dexter which I recently started watching and caught up with and am waiting for the next season to start on the 28th.

Yes, it sure isn't. It's full of commercials and all that bunch of bull***k. I only watch Discovery or Eurosport these days. TV sure has gone down a lot.

TV has indeed changed. I find there are less and less shows worth caring about. The only show I watch on Primetime channels like FOX ABC NBC etc is Terminator. Other then that it's really just watching stuff like Mythbusters on the discovery channel. You look at how each season there are more shows getting canceled then there are getting renewed and it makes you wonder about the quality of these shows.

Well with you, censorship is also any issue. These days everything is getting censored because people don't want to get sued. There is no such thing as saying what you want even in countries where they guarantee your rights. It's a big issue right now because everyone wants to be politically correct, but it just makes us all the more stupid. For example, the change from A.D and B.C to B.C.E and B.C.

If you're talking about cartoons, then yes. Cartoons have gone to hell. It all sucks really really bad. I can't stand to watch them anymore =[. We used to have cartoons every week day on Channel 5, too. And now, they just have stupid comedies. But even if they did have cartoons, i wouldn't watch because they really suck. They try to use the best graphics and stuff but that doesn't mean it makes the cartoons better. I feel like they're targeting 7 year olds that don't have an opinion on what's good or bad to watch yet -__-. I wish the good ol' stuff like Looney Tunes and Magic School Bus was back. I loved those shows.

As for shows like Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy and Supernatural =]. They're addictinggggg (XD) emoticon

Tell me about it!
I don't even watch TV anymore I just mostly browse the internet and read mangas lol or books. I also play a lot of video games and participate in games or other activities at my local YMCA. Reading is so much better than watching TV anyway, all the programs they show are mostly crap so I encourage my friends read mostly mangas with me lol.
It's so sad though because in the late 90's they used to broadcast a lot of Family oriented shows and they used to have a lot of game shows as well. I liked Jeopardy a lot lol and wheel of fortune, I don't know if these shows are still ongoing but I've just lost all interest in watching TV. It's mostly REALITY SHOWS on now a days anyway and I HATE IT! I don't mind not watching TV really because thanks to bad shows I've discovered that they are so much more entertaining things out there to do. I go out a lot more and get some exercise and it saves me from getting fat because I'm a number one foodie. Oh I forgot to mention that the internet is a great place to watch a lot of interesting things as well.

All too true, I must put my two cents in here and agree with most of you in that reality television has taken over and for that sole reason I have chosen to stop watching tv. I watch the news everyday and the most recent was the Olympics lol, but nothing else really. I like watching movies and cartoons and some animes so yeah. I'm pretty good with that. You're better off just buying the old tv shows dvd box set and become the master of your domain. TV sucks no doubt about it. or maybe I'm too different either way all I have to say is thank heavens for the internet.

I live in the US and I can say that yup, television has gotten pretty boring in recent years. It's not that it's terrible or anything, it's just inane and pointless, a lot of flash without enough substance. A lot of it dregs on in reruns or reality TV or game shows or other somesuch things... it's just plain uninteresting, disengaging, or unoriginal, unexciting, and intellectually insulting sometimes. It's like they're shoveling out mish-mash to the easily amused sliceof the masses in return for a steady stream of profit. Whatever works really, they're a business and they're entitled to make money with their shows, even if they're not entertaining... but I think they're really missing out on some talented people who could make some great stuff. :P

Television isn't what it used to be, no. Instead of trying to make something good, basically everything on TV is either:
1. Reality shows (that only focus on scandals and cat fights)
2. Different kinds of contests where the viewer choose the winner (by voting, often for a big sum of money)

Hmmm. I live in Argentina, and TV honestly sucks in this country.
Everyone loves to watch scandals, bodies, baahh -___- It's just a shame =S

I have to admit that there is good stuff too, but... there are not so many programms like those u.u

And... on the other hand, we have DirecTV at home and I watch a couple of channels =S it's quite funny xD

Yeah, especially for elder anime fans the regular TV in germany is rather bleak. Add to that that the broadcasting times are unfeasible for someone who has to work. It's mitigated a bit that the series they broadcast are outside my preferences anyways (well, I stumbled arcross Naruto once and somewhat laughed my ass of for about five minutes at the verbal censorship in the german dub then I switched the channel)
Unfortunately MTV seems to have given up on broadcasting anime and the only other station which at least occasionally showed anime (VOX) did so at very uneasy times (past midnight, dang, I have to work!) and even they seem to have stopped.

TV is about reality shows right now and soon it will be about Remakes of older shows and reality shows. We have seen Night rider and 90210 come back recently and my gut feeling is that is just the beginning.

I couldn't agree with all of you more. I too despise those god awful REALITY TV shows. Big Brother my a$$, it needs to stop lol. It's still surprising to me that even though there is so much crap on TV people still find the time to sit around a different screen, the "COMPUTER". Everything happens for a reason I guess, TV went bad and computers took over. I only tune in when I need to watch the news or check the weather. I have an outstanding collections of movies so I often watch those instead.
