There defintely is life after death, if you believe in it or not.
There is Heaven. There is Hell. And the way you choose to live your life here will determine where you go. Death is an extention of life. It's closing one door to open another. I believe that if you live a life pleasing to God and believe in Him and His Salvation, you'll go to Heaven. But if you reject Him, you choose to live your eternal life in a world that is far worse than all the horrors we have seen here on earth. You may not agree or even believe, but truth is truth and at the end of the day we all need to make a choice.

I believe in life after death...........because it doesn't just end there does it? If we just died after living for so long that would just be sad because your leaving some people behind. Also those who have died, some have actually come back as spirits. So I think I agree with Rikatsu about life having stages. We experience the material world or the first stage[which we're in now], then when we reach our limit we go to the spirit world or the second stage. [which my grandma is probably in] Its probably like this world except that we can only watch the material world and maybe sometimes aid it. The third stage could be like a dream like world or reincarnation. The sad part about one of these stages though is that we could FORGET. Who we originally were and what we know. Just to start over and not remember those you've loved is just sad [ especially anime]
but to start over means change. If you were a criminal here you could have a chance of living better ................ I wonder though what the final stage is?

Personally, I didn't know this until a few days ago, but that I love this world even if it is imperfect it will not stop changing to make life better. I love my mother, father, and brother. Of course, everyone in my family. I love anime while its still with me and manga. I've felt things and seen things. I don't want to give it up or forget about it, now.
I will state this simply. Life itself has so many intricacies and obstacles, that I see any labor wasted on worrying about what comes after as fruitless. We have much to do in this life as is and if there is more to do after, than we should handle it then. Maybe I exist more in the present than I should, but honestly I just can't afford to waste energy with all I have to accomplish now.

I believe there must be something after this life. It is depressing to think that this is it.
Shinto I must ask, why? Does the splendor and awe within this world not impress you enough? I know there is a lot of pain, but we can't let that rule our lives. If we only see the pain, then you lose sight of the beauty altogether. I would say I am a dreamer and perhaps my words mean little, but I have lived through a decent amount of pain. I could never let that deter me from the immense joy I get from the world around me. Shame I am a tad jaded towards humanity as a whole, because people can offer some beautiful things. Though it also true they can offer some truly cruel things as well, it is a shame.
Next life? I don't wanna become an insect or something so I don't haha...

No.. i don't..

lucky
well I'm religious so believing in next life is quite obvious for me.
And jackass1987, of course a part of it is about controling poeple, that's exactly the point. Can you imagine what would happen if there weren't any rules in this world? it would be a complet mess where anyone does wahtever they want and meny innocent people will suffer for no reason. Naturally there have to be rules to make sure thing won't go that way, and for the rules to be followed there has to be punishment for those who break them.
Wait, are you implying that without religious control the world would be a complete mess. The last time I checked the the last time the church was in charge it was so bad we called it the Dark Ages. If you look up the info secular countries have the highest happiness rate, lowest divorce rate, lowest teen pregnancy rate, lower abortion rates (for those who care), lowest crime rates and greater overall life. Check out the Scandinavian countries, they are a perfect example, over 70% of people reporting to believe in no higher power, yet their countries are are doing significantly better then the US (the most religious 1st world country). I believe that without the control of the church good people (even you lucky) will continue to do good things and bad people will continue to do bad things. It's not like people that are religious would go of and start murdering and raping everyone if higher powers where proven imposable, right? My only concern here is that it takes religion to get good people to do bad things.

This is nothing more than a bold assertion. I could claim that there is a flying spaghetti monster that will either send you to the land of giant meatballs or the sewers of greasy fettucini alfredo and if you reject the flying spaghetti monster you will go to the sewers of greasy fettucini alfredo to suffer forever in greasy cheese. Both my assertion of spaghetti and TokyoD's assertion are equally valid here. That is why I would go by the evidence and since there is no evidence for an afterlife there is no reason to waste your life on it.
*Waiting for pascal's wager*

Hmmm Well I do believe in life after we die but not in terms of being reborn on earth ^^ I'm a Christian so that will probably explain a lot.
When people ask me this question i always end up saying the same things...
I say that there is no real point in thinking about it, I mean, no one can answer that question because no one will know. Just live your life to the fullest now and try your best to achieve your goals... don't worry about things you cannot control cause that would probably make you very unhappy.
