Do you guys believe in ghosts? Just ghosts nothing about afterlife or anything spiritual. Why or why not? Have you seen one if you do believe in them? Do you believe in the ghost shows that they show on TV?

I personally believe in them because I thought I saw one I was 5 and I got scared shitless. But the thing is since it was when I was young I can't really differentiate between reality or dream hah... Well since I'm older I do still somewhat believe in them but have my doubts.

but no i don't believe in the ghosts and mythic/urban monsters shown in the show

what i do believe is that science can't explain everything, and the effort for trying to explain EVERYTHING is the fact we are afraid to embrace that unknown
like is god real? there are some intense debates on some forums about this and i find it stupid
what we believe and choose to all comes down to the things we have been exposed to since childhood
even though when you,re an adult and can think rationally for yourself its hard to throw away those experiences that makes up our mind

i have heard people seeing ghosts but everytime its at dark and it's after they are scared or feels something is out there
thats when they see it, not really clear but a vague and a short glimpse
which really scares the crap outta already said scared person and further
strengthens their feeling of someone being out there (this just may contradict with my sceintists trying to explain everything lol )

I'm on the fence on this one. My mom has personal ghost stories of her own.

As a kid she lived in the countryside beside a huge forest where they had a farm. One night she was on her way back home from the forest and she thought she saw my grandpa about 100 meters downhill from here in a clearing and she called out to him but he didn't respond. Then when she got home she asked my mom whether or not her dad had been in the woods and my mom said, no my grandpa had been in the shower the whole time.

Another time was she my mom and my grandma went out to the river to wash some clothes, it was at night and my mom was holding the flashlight for her. Then my mom went "Mom, there are a lot of people standing here watching you" and my grandma shat her pants and dropped the clothes into the river rofl

I mean, ghost stories sure as hell are interesting to listen to but deciding whether or not they're real representations of dead people is impossible, at least right now. The way I see it, humanity has faced several times in history where a phenomenon couldn't be explained until later in the future. In my eyes, ghosts and aliens are just some of the things that haven't been explained but will be in the future. I'd like to live to see that day.

One of my friend who doesn't believe in ghosts proposes the question: if ghosts are spirits of dead people why don't we see ghosts of dinosaurs roaming around. My answer to that is, assuming ghosts ARE representations of dead people, is because ghosts are usually attached to a certain thing, whether it be a person, item or location. In order to have that kind of attachment a certain level of intelligence is required, which animals besides humans don't have. This is all assuming ghosts are spirits.

I personally can't decided for myself whether or not ghosts of dead people exist, but I do believe that it is strange for all the sightings, photographs and videos that have been recorded in the past to contain references to ghosts. It's hard to explain what they are, but I do believe that something that looks like ghosts exists, I'm just not sure if they represent dead people or are just our imaginations.

About the arguments concerning God... This is not relevant to the thread but I do agree that the arguments are stupid. But I think your generalization is too hasty, they just merely say that they "believe" in God and it doesn't go anywhere from there. This can be seen by those who grow up and do whatever they want, even those who were born from a Christian based family.
I would agree that it is hard to throw away our experiences but it's easy to just ignore them.
And I see you're a "seeing is believing" person.

For me only the things that I can touch and feel are real ^^ so nope Idont believe in this stuff

Will I don't know if I do or don't. A part of me says yes, the other is no. It would be cool after you die you become one. In away you don't really die.

I believe there are ghosts.

My house might have ghost residents actually and that's why I believe in them. There have been several occasions where my family has seen shadows around the house. A long time ago my sister thought I was outside at night throwing away trash. She walks back inside the house to see me and she freaked out a bit because supposedly I am outside. In my house, it has been common among all my family members have seen a "black" man in the house. There seems to be a lady and a child but I haven't seen them.

Only one I saw a couple of times was the black man. My first encounter was when I was going into the kitchen. I literally see a black figure in the kitchen walk around and then go into a corner out of sight. Then I go around to see if someone was there... no one was there. The way my house is designed, at the position I was at (in the hallway), I have a view of the entire kitchen and living room besides the one blind spot where the shadow walked off to. I didn't hear any foot steps on top of that. It was pretty scary actually.

My brother, my sister, and I have also experienced a bunch of cold spots. Don't get me wrong, of course at night everything will be cold unless you have touched it. BUT... a couple of times we would feel one part of the bed that was freezing cold (compared to the other parts of the untouched bed) and gave us goosebumps.

There has also been times where I see shadows at the corner of my eyes or a white smoke move around.

Can this all be just delusions? Who knows. But I have one encounter that made me believe in ghosts. I was just typing on my computer at night just like I am now. All of a sudden I get colder. Then I literally... LITERALLY... feel 5 finger nails slowly sink into the back of my neck. I look behind and then rub my neck. Nothing was there. Then shortly after it happened again, then I do the same thing by looking behind. After that, it happens a third time. I was pretty much scared to go to sleep because I was just a young kid lol.

Okay, i love metaphysical theories/ideas/form, but i don't believe in "ghost"

Oh! I do believe in ghost. Many things had happened with me during childhood that made me to believe in them. Even My mother's grandfather had a very bad personal experince with them. Mostly whenever I went to my grandmother's palce- many of the time I'd seen a transparent figure of a woman ghost which ultimately get disappeared in front of the same wall everynight. It's appears that she gets absorbed in the wall. It really scares me very much!

I am not really much of a believer in the supernatural.. I have many friends that swear by personal stories that they have encountered ghosts and I have had family tell me stories, but honestly I have a hard time believing they are anything but stories..

Wow, this makes me remember something.
A few days ago, one of my classmate said that she saw a ghost(she was frightened and she's cried). And that the second time she saw it in OUR CLASS.
There another person said that she saw a ghost too. She said she saw it through the window, near the ladder. There's dress floating in the air, but there's no one wearing it. In the past, before my school, that place was a graveyard, and then became a hospital. After that, my school.
But, my teacher said that, my school is a Christ school, so it's impossible for ghost to be there. I don't really believe in ghost, but it makes me frightened too
