I don't think I believe in them, but instead I got interested. Yeah, I have nightmares but those aren't the type to be scared of...

no.

But in a way I think I can at least sense things that aren't physically present around me. Weird sounds, goose bumps, cold air, faint footsteps, name it. There are even times when I feel like there's someone looking at me...

but still I don't think I fully believe in ghosts.

There is really ghosts when people believe that they exist, but for me, i'm not sure, when i see them with my own eyes then maybe at that moment i believe that they are a part of our world!^_^ But after say that i don't know what will i be when i know them a ghost!Scary!

Never seen a ghost, so I don't believe they exist. But I wish they do, it will make life more exciting.

Well...I do believe in ghost...But I haven't actually seen one though I always want to meet ghosts since I was a kid... >.<

i have heard people seeing ghosts but everytime its at dark and it's after they are scared or feels something is out there
thats when they see it, not really clear but a vague and a short glimpse
which really scares the crap outta already said scared person and further
strengthens their feeling of someone being out there

I agree with you AssassinXXX, many times people's personal accounts of ghosts/unexplained are at night when everything is already creepy. But I also think that ghosts/spirits come around when there is less activity like at night when people are sleeping.

In the afterlife thread, I posted that because I believe there is a ghost in the house i grew up in, it reinforces my belief in the afterlife. Anytime I saw that ghost/spirit, it was in the daytime.

I have read a lot of books about ghosts/spirits/paranormal stuff and that has helped shape my idea that there are basically 2 kinds of hauntings: people that are haunted and places that are haunted.

I think the house i grew up in is a haunted place and anyone would be able to see the freaky stuff there.

I think my mother was a haunted person for a while by a boyfriend that died. This is a crazy story, so if you don't believe it, i get it.

OK, so she was dating this guy when she was like 19 and he got hit by a car and died. This guy happened to be a chain smoker and after his death, she would find cigarette ashes next to her bed and in her room, in piles like someone had been sitting up all night just letting the ash burn. She moved to another place a few months later and same thing, she'd find piles of ashes when she would wake up in the morning. Then one of her friends had a party and had a "palm reader" as entertainment. She was charging 20 bucks for a reading (in the 70s! ::ripoff::) and my mother went to the party knowing she was not paying for someone to basically make shit up.

So she is there, chilling i guess, and the lady was like, "ok, it's D's turn" and my mom was like, "no thanks," and she was like "no I can't do anyone else until i read you." Mom is still like "no way, no money for you" and the reader was like "seriously, i will do yours for free because I can't do anyone else until I read you." My mother grudgingly went into the room the palm reader was in and stuck out her hand. The palm reader said, "i don't need your hand. there is a guy here and he said he will not leave or let me do another reading until i tell you he is here." Total John Edwards moment. Mom is like "who is here?" and the reader told her the dead boyfriend's name, how he died and how he had been following her to her apartments, smoking as he would watch her sleep and my mom was really freaked out. Needless to say, Mom was like tell him to leave me alone, and the reader said he said he would as soon as she moved to another apartment because the one she was in was haunted by another spirit that did not like her. The psychic told her when she had fallen down the steps to the laundry room in the building it had been the spirit pushing her. This further validated the psychic b/c Mom did fall on her way to do laundry and never told anyone.

Now, this could just be a crazy story, coincidence, reading too much into events, etc., but I think that when unexplained things happen, it is most likely the paranormal or ghosts or whatever you want to call it.

The ghosts are only imagination. Nobody had seen truly one, to believe in that and to be scared to that is something immature.

I'm not sure where I stand on the ghost belief. I admit that I have seen some scary things, but I'm not sure yet that I believe it. There are probably some real psychics out there. But, even real ones can't bring people back from the dead. People started believing psychics could bring people back from the dead when two sisters (have forgotten their names, try googling it) claimed to be able to do it. This caused years of panic and people were very excited and went to see these sisters. After seeing the mass outbreak of all these people interested however, the sisters admitted that when the "spirit" was talking to them by taping, one of the girls just cracked her big toe, an odd talent. Even though they were phonies, psychics today still claim that they can talk to the dead. Really, most are just smoke and mirrors.

It's the same theory for Heaven and Hell. I would like to ask you or anyone, where exactly are they located because I didn't see any heaven when I finally reached the clouds and I'm certain that a lot people didn't see any hell when they drilled into the earth. Heaven and hell are old wives tales from the early days of civilization to scare their kids into being good. And then it got tied in with Christianity. Limbo is a funny word. I don't believe in that either though. So, in summary, ghosts may be (might even be probably) real. But, all these religious aspects that you tie into ghost, in my mind, aren't. That's just one person's opinion though.

Ghosts are real indeed, Ive had a few experiences myself, One i'll never forget.

I really don't want to believe in ghost, so in my mind I say no. But sometimes I feel that they are real, that they are somewhat watching or passing by. I don't know, I sometimes feel that they are around but I just ignore them, IF they are actually real. /(oOo)#

To atlacatl: Even if it was 100% imagination is it really relevant to immaturity? People always associate something with something else and just because someone has more of a tendency to imagine something in light of fear doesn't seem to show immaturity. Especially when that fear was founded on some fearful experience. And say that this is immature, would it really be all that different without the belief in it?

To SlideMaster: The conservation of energy has nothing to do with spirits (ghosts, whatever you want to call it) because science is empirical. This metaphysical concept can not be observed and measured through the scientific method... so it all comes down to personal belief. The only relevance to the conservation of energy is that the body's energy is then transmitted/changed over to the earth.

It is said that children are the ones that have the power to see spirits at such a young age because they havn't had their perception of what reality altered. So chances are you DID see a ghost?
These things are possible, just as it is possible to shoot fire from your fingers.
