Money sure does help make living easier... I like not having to farm/hunt for my food. And I have to disagree with the idea that money can't buy happiness. I bought a guitar a year ago and it has probably been one of my greatest decisions. When I'm sad I can play it to get my feelings out of the dumps and when I'm happy I can play it to just relish in the moment. I love music what can I say :\.

Without money I won't survive, modern world is designed for that, cruelest reality. Nobody on this forum can say the opposite, because at least you live in a rural area, sew your own clothes, cultivate your own food and work for other goods (including the internet you're using to visit this site), you need that damn money

BUT, money is not happiness, and it never will. All this world's problems are caused by money, directly or indirectly.

Money is important for everyone. In my mind Money = Great Power. What can human beings
do without money in today's world? NOthing...... humans need money in order to survive, No money = go to die.Sometimes, money is useless ,because money can't bring died people back to alive. I think some people die for money. Money can't buy humanity.Money always destroy human's mind. The only people can survive,they know how to use money .

Money doesn't bring happiness, the amount of it does.
Just a year ago I was still living with my parents, now I attend a medicine university in another town. I have to worry about bills, shelter, food, books, clothes and everything else that used to be provided by my parents without me touching a cent. Would I be happy living under a bridge with an empty stomach and dirt on my face? No. Am I happy in an apartment with hot water and electricity? Yes. What gets me that? Money. It’s that simple.

I can't live without money lol.

Not really important, just important enought that i need it to survive. all i ever really need it anime or some mangas, which can pretty much be pirated form all over the internet

Money is very important in everybody's life. There won't be a living without money. Without money, we can buy nothing. I think the importance of money is depend on the situation. I don't think we'll need money if we life in the middle of the juggle. Even so, having a lot of money without having friends or family, is like living in nowhere.

Like most of you said, money doesn't equal happiness, although you need a certain amount to get through your life.
I mean, I don't care all that much about money although it did get a little more important to me lately. (My boyfriend lives about 2 1/2 hours away and we always have to go by train which does cost a lot after a while.)

I just don't understand people who really make a great deal out of having money because in the end, money isn't what defines your character. x)

Money is used for medium of exchange, if you don't have money you cannot live, you can't buy food that may result of being hungry. it is very important because most of our needs need to be bought by the use of "money"

Money is essential to live in this world, therefore, it is very important to me. Without it, how am I going to pay for utility bills, food, entertainment and etc? I've always been a spendthrift (a stark contrast to my sister, who splurges more money than she can earn), because I know the significance of cash. It can't buy love, but it can sure as hell buy materialistic happiness... or pleasure, if you desire. Such things can't be carried with you to the grave, so to speak (unless you want to carry your PlayStation 3 with you in your deathbed, but that's not the point), but money can be passed down to your kids or be donated to the charity. Even if it loses its importance to you (since you're pushing up daises and all), but it will be important to others.

Anyway, it's important to me. Period.

Although money doesn't necessarily ensure or promise happiness, I'm pretty sure we can't be happy without money lol XD I certainly won't be happy without money.. x__x I can't buy the things I want and need.. Whenever I go to the mall and see different types of clothing it kind of makes me sad knowing that I can't buy them 'cause I don't have the money T__T It's really sad. lol

Money = important if not the most important

No money will eventually lead to death. Why? Because the world is built on money. You can't survive on your own. Hunting for food is impossible, gathering fruit is impossible. Because they don't exist anymore, at least not in great quantities.
Money is the tool that brings all people together. It's the reward for the efforts of people. And what is more satisfying than getting rewarded for your efforts?
Money does deliver happiness because many people rely on it. To survive, to enrich their souls, and various other things. Let's say you give $ 1000 to a poor man, he will literally praise you to heaven. You've just made him and probably yourself happy.
This is just the harsh reality of the world we live in. I've never seen any poor people which looked genuinely happy.
Love is usually free and can be found in any area, whether is be poor or rich. But love isn't the ultimate happiness (many will reject this statement, I just know it lol). Love doesn't satisfy one's soul for 100% (it does the trick for up to 80% though :)). Fulfilling one's needs in area's like art, music, academics etc are also part of gaining true happiness. If not fulfilled you'll probably regret it in later life when it's not possible anymore. And regret isn't happiness as far as I know xD. Money helps fulfill the needs which love can't fulfill.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm not a person who's life revolves around money. Things such as love and friendship weren't given to me. But I still value those things even though I don't have them. And so I hardly spend any money on myself, simply because I don't need to. There is nothing to gain from objects, well maybe some happiness that lasts for a couple of hours. This excludes the internet though because in this more and more digitalizing world, internet is a must. And money for school (studying the things you like is important) and paper/pencils (because I love to draw xD).
We've become to depend on money too much, that nothing is possible anymore without money. There is money involved in everything you do (except for breathing -.-" well in some extreme cases even breathing costs money), may it be involved right now or involved at some point in the past.
To cut a long story short: money is important for me against my own will and only a major change in the hearts of all the people on the world can change that.
