what would happen if there was no anime in the world
The world will still go. but it would be a dull one o__o

People would start killing each other! Imagine that a lot of children are getting so many examples and lessons from anime and stuff like that! Well then my custom anime art style would be null and void, and my game art & design degree wouldn't even exist.
If there was no anime in the world, then old slap stick comedy would die...No more cute girls doing cosplays, alot of games would resort to hardcore CG 3D style games. If anime was gone we won't have Otakus anymore, everyone will start to get bored of regular cartoons. People will always wonder "Hey how come they never cuss in cartoons?" Time! as we know it will begin to slow down...
If anime didn't exist, most likely cartoons didn't exist, as well as any form of comics, or maybe something from our developmental history that were changed and people aren't capable to draw.. so i guess we "not having anime" would be something not to be found on our world, maybe on some other planet.. our world was meant to have anime, if it was missing, i will definitely feel that it was taken from us, or erased from our minds.. we won't just do something else, we will definitely notice it, and eventually someone will start to draw the first comic, then cartoon, then anime..

Well, anime wouldn't have existed so, we wouldn't have the chance to react to it since we don't even know what it was. We'd just be... liking something else, I guess.
I guess it depends on who you are asking. 
For anime-lovers, it would get very boring considering they would be deprived of their addiction.

It depends on the situation. Did we have it before? Or did it just never exist?
If we had it before, and it was suddenly banned and all anime from all of everywhere was deleted, they even invaded your home to delete it (that sounds damn extreme) well, then I'd just not-watch anime and do other stuff. Sure that episode every week is pretty darn nice, it's nice to just relax and watch anime for that half-hour but there're better ways to relax. Furthermore, you could be more productive on a project, homework, or a personal project if you don't spend that 30 minutes watching an anime. There'd also be times where you would reminisce about the 'old days.' Haha..
However...
If it just never existed, the answer to that is simple. We wouldn't miss it, we never would have heard about it! And thus, since we never knew about it, something else would come in place of that time, but it would be normal as anime was never brought into the world.

If there was no such thing as anime, my view of the world would probably be very different. Many of the things i see on anime, i apply to my everyday life.
