Wierd People
There are so many wierd people on this site. I browse the forums watching people going like:
-"Would there still be a meaning in life if the was no anime?"
-"I only care about anime, i dont care about people and real life, they are a waste of time"
-"Ignorance is Bliss"
What are those people thinking? I have checked their ages and they are all 17+. So what would the problem be that someone turns to anime so badly that he ignores everyone and everything exept anime?..

Well, is it wrong for 17+ to watch anime?
Although i do agree it's kind of pathetic, though expected. What did you think they made hentai for?

I never said it is wrong to watch anime at any age. Rejecting everything else in your life for anime is REALLY wrong though.
If your high purpose of life is to watch anime and read manga while people DO like you and DO ask you out you actually have problems really. Hardcore gamers turn anti-social as well but they go out every now and then.
I was an anime addict in the past but it didn't last longer than 2 months. I just deleted all my anime and kept on living my life. I clearly don't say that they shouldn't watch anime on their free time, but making it a life plan is plain madness...
Well, I think their old enough too watch anime and be responsible for their actions. And besides, there are times where whta people say is way different from what they feel and do, so some of them are just having a hard time expressing themselves. I don't even think you should worry about these people, who are 17+ you should worry about the ones who are 17 below dude! these people you're talking are old enough, and the only problem I see is that they might become unsociable and things like that. But overall I could say that you're too caring and thought to others to even care about the problems they'll soon face in the future. Chill down dude. Its their choice to become what they "will" become in the future. But leaning on the bright side, this thread somewhat like a eye-opener to those who are and will be facing problems in the future.

Fun is fun when it is kept into moderated limits.

Don't expect a person with a cold to operate properly!
Damn it!
Damn it!
On a serious note, yes i noticed some weird threads like what would you do without ____ ?
Is ____ the most important thing in life ?
What would you do if one day you found there was no ____ in the world?
I have 2 answers to them.
1. They are pintless thread with not much to talk about and you can make a thread with anything, just fill in the gaps with something different everytime.
Easy papers. Doesn't necessarily mean it's the true voice of the OP but it gurantees steady flow of papers on a regular basis.
2. If they were serious then frankly I'd be worried.
Sure anime is great and hell it's great to get away from the real world
sometimes. But you can't be you, in that world.
People who are extreme really tend me to worry me because i mean seriously...
ther's more to life than anime and all.
Passion and hobby are fine, they help us to relax, relieve stress and help us to build confidence. But to completely forget the real world in the meantime is just sad.
Many people i noticed don't try at all. Perhaps to them not trying means not failing. LOL that just reminded me of homer simpson.
Anyway for them, if i don't try, i Don't fail. Does that give them a sense of security, hope?
Why not try and fail? at least that way you don't live your life a coward and no regrets?
I think i got carried away there, i tend to which is why i try not to get serious, once i start boy do i get rollin.
But yeh, i think everyone in life needs something or someone to snap them out of a fantasy life and help them see the opportunity to realise what they can do in the real world.
at 17 i don't think people are really tht mature to understand a lot of things
even if they feel like they know the universe inside out.
i know i did.
I know better now.
A few years can really make a lot of difference

I can tell you what period in one's life makes a big diference and shapes his personallity in a great deal. Univesity.
You go to a new place, meet new people, get to study something partially or completely new. You are getting pushed by several points:
-Pass as many classes as possible.
-Get to know as many people as possible.
-Try to get those people to like you more and more.
All this presure, if all you care about in the world is anime, i give it two months until you are back to your hometown getting shouted out by parents and everyone for not being responsible.
As i said in previous threads, life is based on communication and communities themselves. The bigger the community you build, the more you communicate. The more you communicate, the more you build up your social skills. At the end you will realise how easy and nice it is to meet new people, get to know their stories, even learn things from them.
Interacting with the community is a great thing. Don't miss it for 4 more hours of anime.
You sometimes wonder if the people who you talk to are weird or not, after all, all you're seeing are what they typed on AP. There are weird people on and off the Internet, I think more on the Internet since they tend to expose themselves more because people can't see them and aren't ashamed to act like so. Yes, I've seen some people act really immaturely, strangely, awkward, the adjectives go on...and I get ignore them and try to forget them as soon as possible.

Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
So I see that my "Ignorance is bliss." caught your eye, eh? Taking it out of that context and ignoring my hikikomori lifestyle, don't you agree that the less people know, the happier they can be in their simplicity? If you never know that there is anything better, then wouldn't you be satisfied with what you have? (this excludes those having a hard life, under marks of poverty, disease, abuse, etc.) We're not all damn rocket scientists and I don't think you'd tell people to not live their lives for their own happiness.
Now, going into context and adding myself to the equation, it is a fact that what I do all day every day is play games, watch anime and read a book or some manga, along with vital actions, as toilet, eating and sleeping, and that's it. I don't do any harm (nor good, I admit) and am happy in my situation. Undesired by society? Certainly. But I don't desire it myself, so I don't care.
