Ever try watching Anime around other people?
Sometimes i watch it with my sister. But most of the time its by myself. If i was in your shoes i would have found a seat up against a wall. I dont like anyone looking over my shoulder while i'm doing my own thing on a computer one little bit. lol

Never did it in public... (only anime conventions, but well all people there like anime of course... so it's of no relevance)
I sometimes watch with my friends who like anime too, but usually I prefer sitting alone in my room watching. Also in my country anime are still generalized as cartoons for children -___-" so watching them would just make me appear immature...

Yah I had that problem in places like the bus but like people said how people think that it is for kids the next day I just brought some higurashi then every one understood after that

It depends. With other anime fans, naturally, it wouldn’t bug me. However, since most of my friends aren’t into anime, I’d be a bit uneasy given the craziness sometimes found in anime. Like, I won’t watch Bleach, or Fullmetal Alchemist around friends, but I won’t mind watching something like Grave of the Fireflies.

Watching anime around people that don't really know what it's about is what is uncomfortable. I mean, they ask, "Why are you watching CARTOONS!?" Like you're 5 years old watching Spongebob? There is no viable comparison there, except the animated quality.
Now, one time I was watching anime in the airport, and I wasn't expecting this AT ALL, but the anime suddenly went into "ERO-MODE"...I was so embarrassed, but the guy sitting next to me busted up laughing, so I guess it wasn't all bad. Maybe he'll start watching anime now, who knows??

I personally feel weird and self-conscious when I tried to watch anime in public.
Because I think someone discriminate against me.

Its kinda akward to watch in public alone, since people where i live dont really understand anime, but i really dont care if people descriminate me, its akward... yes. but i dont really care that much.
whit friends in public its l a lot easyer, its like i'm home watching it.
i also watch in classes, when i already finished my work, and some of my classmates are really close minded and say i'm imature and weirdo (but spend theyr time playing those lames 2d games in crappy game sites, or putting clothes on v-dolls) others who already know me or dont care tht i watch accep it, and some times watch a lil whit me.
its just about if you care what people think of you or not.

In addition, looked that the cartoon was usually considered is weak. The relative elder also thought that the adult should not look Anime .Therefore, looked that the cartoon turns my entertainment,I do not have the means to other people share. This kind of feeling both bad and lonely.

I'm in college now and you'd think that I'd get serious and start working harder. Heck no. I watch more anime now than ever and my roommate and closest friends all know about my fanaticism. Indeed it was weird at first but after a while I stopped caring. One of my friends is an anime fan too so every now and then I'll watch with him. Most the time though I just watch by myself :[.
Well it depends on what kind of anime your watching and what kind of people your around while watching it. I NEVER watch anything remotely Ecchi around other people cause they misunderstand and stuff.
Usually when I'm around people in my major, they just ask "What anime is that?" and be on their way (lots of people watch anime in my major). But when i'm around some other friends they are always like: HENTAI!? and i'm like no. Go away! But meh, i don't care really. I still watch anime wherever :P

I generally can't stand watching anime around other people.
1. Because I don't like to be distracted, I prefer to watch a lot of anime in a short amount of time.
2. Because I can't stand the commentary of people who think they're witty or funny, when they're really not. It's really irritating when someone feels the need to act cool by making a 'smart' comment every five seconds during a show, especially a serious one.

I always let people know that Im an anime fan, if you come in my room you'll see posters and my desktop background is always anime. But as for just putting it out there, I dont do that. If other people talk about it, or I see they're interested then I'd love to talk, but I'm not the type to run around screaming it out there.
Yeah, and when I do it usually turns out to be a commentary fest.

Yes. It's only fun it is a Movie or Miyazaki Movie, or if the anime is in english. I unno I prefer to be alone when watching something but meh.
One fun thing to do if a lot of people are watching Subbed Anime together is to assign characters to people and have them read out what the subs say for that character... voice acting ftw :3

Oh I honestly watch It all the time around friends and family as most of them know that It's a hobby of mine but I chose to watch the new Kanokon OVA's (Just for Nozomu, which I must say was extremely disappointed on the lack of her screentime). So my mom came in the room and jokingly said 'Oh my, so these are the kind of shows you like' If you know Kanokon then you know the kind of content that was going on. I felt my face flush red, not known for sure but I felt my face heat up then cool down after a while from her saying that out of nowhere. Tch, last time I watch that kind of thing knowing she's around.
