Nobel Prizes

The war in Afghanistan, however is an entirely different matter. On September 11, 2001 the United States of America was aggressively attacked by the Taliban Government of Afghanistan. The United States of America was attacked by use of a proxy force under the command of Osama bin Laden, and expressly supported by the Taliban Government of Afghanistan.
do you know The Truth Behind September 11 attacks?

@~satoushigeki: If you are going to describe a conspiracy theory, understand I'm willing to believe that the government can be as deceitful and conniving as any reasonable measure of open mindedness can truly permit. That said, in releases to the press, Osama bin Laden has made it crystal clear that he is proud of his attack on the United States.
The above stated I return the discussion to its point of initiation. Does Barack Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, "... while still advocating sending soldiers to Iraq?" as ChrisWas stated it.
My response is as follows:
1) There are no deserved Nobel Prizes, just awards of the prize that make you think.
2) The awarding is a subjective choice, and there is nothing wrong with making a decision on the basis of subjective considerations.
3) There are occasions when principles are so far askew that you can not sit and diplomatically discuss the difference. People are being killed, and peace means war, because that is the only way to make the dying stop.
4) When it comes to the Nobel Peace Prize; it is for daring to stand up and proclaim the humanity of the individual self, or of others that it is usually awarded.
Having restated my opinion, I'll yield the discussion. At this point I've been too active in this thread and I'd like to hear others present their opinions.

For me, that's an extremist point of view, precisely the kind of thinking that contributes to war perpetuation. Peace means war? Oh my god! It's obvious that you don't live in a country affected by violence. Violence breeds more violence, that's universal, you'd never achieve peace with war, never. An example under the context: violent measures that US did to make peace in Afghanistan created hate, anger and fear that years later became the war that you are actually suffering. Bin Laden was trained by the CIA to fight communism, remember? USA's worst enemy is their own creation. For me, the single fact that Obama is trying to achieve peace by non-violent ways is enough for win this and future Nobel Prizes.
ProximaBy what warrant does any other individual, or nation claim the right destroy us for being human and having erred?
None, nothing justifies war. Not even "freedom" and "democracy", the warrants by which every single individual in your nation claim the right to destroy other countries. Risky fiber to touch, don't you think? I'm afraid this topic will end in a fierce political mayhem.

Agreed, that is why I'm yielding the discussion for now. Lets take up the subject of war's cause and effect in another thread later, but I don't think that you are completely wrong Gvnkwyr.
Peace means war. Oh irony, thou art a heartless b*tch.

I disagree with Obama's nomination for the Nobel Peace prize, because besides making history as the first African-American president, he has done NOTHING To bring forth Peace in the country!
